The plastic tongue (orange colour in fig. 3.1) and
groove guides on the top and bottom of the Bus
Terminal Controller and of the added I/O Modules
guarantees that the power contacts mate securely.
The load current of the "Power contact" must not
exceed 10 A for long periods.
The spring contact labelled PE can be used as a
protective earth. This contact is capacitive coupled
to the Bus Terminal Controller mounting rail.

Profibus Interface.
Network topology linear bus, with active bus
terminators at both ends.

NOTE: In order for the Power Source to be able to
interrupt the welding operation if there is
any heart bit in data transmission, the bus
node has a disconnection watchdog. If no
data transmission takes place within 1 s.,
all inputs and outputs are reset and the
Power Source is then in the stop state.

3.6
Profibus cable.
The Bus Terminal Controller BX3100 has in the
left part the lodging for the Sub-D 9 poles
connector.
The Profibus cable, supplied with the equipment,
must be connected to this connector. The bus cable
is a 2x2 core twisted-conductor, screened cable;
one pair of cores is for data transmission, the other
pair is for the power supply.
The figure shows the Profibus cable connections.
The pin 3 is relative to the Profibus P signal.
The pin 5 is relative to the GND of the supply for
the line active terminator circuit.
The pin 6 is relative to +5 V
line active terminator circuit.
The pin 8 is relative to the Profibus N signal.
The cable screen must be connected to the Sub-D 9
poles connector shell. On the Bus Terminal
Controller BX3100 the connector body is coupled
to the DIN guide for assembly of the same module,
with a low resistance.
