01 Û INTRODUCTION
This manual describes the cleaning and
sterilization procedures to be applied on
reusable bone surgery inserts produced by
Mectron.
Carefully read this manual before proceeding
with the cleaning and sterilization operations,
and always keep it within reach.
02 Û CLEANING AND STERILIZATION
The operator must perform a cleaning cycle
with enzymatic detergent (PRE-CLEANING)
as first step. After that it can be decided to
perform the:
- Ultrasonic bath
- Automated cleaning and thermodisinfection.
The procedures applied on PIEZOSURGERY®
accessories have been validated by an
independent institute.
WARNING: First use: The inserts are
delivered in NON STERILE condition and
must be prepared prior the use by applying
the procedures described in this manual.

IMPORTANT: to prevent harm to persons

of seriousness, the safety precautions are

(refers to possible damage to property)
Every use: Once used, each reusable insert
must be thoroughly reprocessed prior
to reuse, according to the procedures
described in this manual.
WARNING: Cleaning processes must
immediately be carried out after each use.
Do not allow contaminated inserts to dry
prior to reprocessing.
Limitations on reprocessing: Repeated
processing has minimal effect on the
instruments examined in this manual. End
of life is normally determined by wear and
damage due to use.
