8.4 Welding cycle with two welding time
and current values (optional)
There is no difference in welding cycle
by machines equipped with two foot
pedals. Program nr.1 is carried out when
pedal A is pressed. Program nr.2 is
carried out when pedal B is pressed.
8.5 Welding parameters and pilot lights
description
8.5.1 Description of the pilot light (fig. 3)
START1 – Presence of the cycle 1 starting
signal.
START2 – Presence of the cycle 2 starting
signal.
SOLENOID VALVE - Solenoid valve
energised.
PRESSURE CONTACT - It signals that an
auxiliary external contact is closed. By standard
machines this connection is normally
short-circuited by a jumper. The external contact
may be used to disallow welding when certain
conditions are not established; for example: air
pressure (pressure switch), water flow, presence
of workpiece (limit switch). For more details
please contact our technicians.
CURRENT FLOWING - It signals that the
thyristors are conducting.
8.5.2 Description of ZT-NKLT welding
parameters (fig. 3)
SQUEEZE TIME - (in the P43 version of the soft-
ware) Set it to zero.
UPSLOPE - (in the P43 version of the software)
This parameter represents the time needed to
reach gradually the pre-set value for welding cur-
rent. This term is included in the welding time and
must therefore be shorter.
WELDING TIME - It represents the duration of
the welding current flow whose intensity is pre-set
by welding current.
WELDING CURRENT - This value indicates in
percentage the current intensity supplied by the
transformer to perform welding.
8.5.3 Description of ZP-NKLP welding
parameters (fig. 3)
SQUEEZE TIME - This represents a time interval
between electrode descent and welding time. The
pre-set value for this parameter should be sufficient
for reaching the nominal electrode force before weld-
ing. A too short squeeze time causes sparking
between electrodes and workpiece at the welding
beginning and provokes inconstancy in welding
quality.
NOTE: The release of foot pedal during squeeze time
causes welding cycle reset.
UPSLOPE - This parameter represents the time
needed to reach gradually the pre-set value for
welding current. This term is included in the welding
time and must therefore be shorter.
B
WELDING TIME 1 - It represents the duration of
A
the welding current flow 1 whose intensity is
pre-set by welding current.
WELDING TIME 2 - It represents the duration of
the welding current flow 2 whose intensity is
pre-set by welding current.
WELDING CURRENT 1 - This value indicates
in percentage the current intensity supplied by
the transformer to perform welding.
WELDING CURRENT 2 - This value indicates
in percentage the current intensity supplied by
the transformer to perform welding.
HOLD TIME - The time after welding and before
electrode return in which pressure is kept on the
workpiece to facilitate weld cooling and strength-
ening.
REST TIME - Elapsed time between a welding
cycle and the next one in repeat spot welding
mode (OPERATION MODE).
8.6 Switches
SINGLE/REPEAT CYCLE SWITCH (ONLY ZP –
NKLP) – When the LED is turned off, the ma-
chine functions in "SINGLE" cycle, performing a
single welding cycle every time the pedal is
pressed.
When the LED is turned on, the machin func-
tions in "REPEAT" cycle, continually repeating
welding cycles until the pedal is released.
By pressing the button, you pass from "SINGLE"
to "REPEAT" cycle and vice versa.
WELD / NO WELD SWITCH – When the yellow
LED is on, the control is set on "WELD".
When the yellow LED is off, the control is set on
"NO WELD".
To switch over "WELD/NO WELD", press the
black button under the LED.

8.7 Error messages

Error list:
ESt Indicates that the start signal is present when the
machine is turned on. Check the start contact on
the pedal (NKLP-ZP) or the contact of the micro-
switch (NKLT-ZT).
FEr Indicates that the frequency is disturbed by other
loads in the system.
Ert
Indicates that the thermostat on the power panel is
operating.
