5.7 Noise level
• The measured acoustic noise for the machines of these
series is 78 dB(A).
5.8 Risk due to magnetic field
• The magnetic field produced by the
welding machine may result injurious to
people suffering from heartbeat disease
and using pacemaker. These people must
consult their doctor before going near the
welding machine. The magnetic field can
also cause prosthesis or clips displacement.
• Do not go near the welding machine with watches,
timers, magnetic tapes, floppy disks, etc.
Unrecoverable data loss or damage may occur.
5.9 Employed materials and recycle
• These welding machines are made of
nondangerous materials such as copper,
bronze, steel, cast iron, aluminium and
without harmful substances for the
operator.
• Disassemble the machine before disposal and separa-
te its components according to each kind of material.
5.10 Risk due to assembly errors
The welding machine is supplied fully assembled and all
components are designed so that they may be not
mounted ambiguously.
5.11 Safety rules for choosing cycle start
operation
The cycle is started by means of the foot pedal. This is
intended to be used when the workpiece is too big to
allow operator's hands to reach the electrode working area.
The user must provide adequate protections according to
the work to be done. Example of protections are:
• Adjust the distance between the electrodes to the
minimun value (5 – 10 mm);
• Movable or immovable safety guards (for example grids
or screens);
• Safety devices without contact (for example
photoelectric);
• Presence detector with contact.
6.
Transport
The welding machine is easily transportable. It may be
lifted and moved using the eyebolts fixed to the top, by
means of hoist, bridge crane or, when placed onto a pallet,
by means of proper dimensioned fork truck. Pay attention
during fork truck transport: the mass is distributed so
that a tilting couple may appear.
7.

Installation and connections

Install the welding machine in a place free of dust and
humidity and so that it can be easily accessible for
maintenance operations. Locate the welding machine on
a clean floor and secure it with fastening screws.

7.1 Connection to the mains supply

The user is responsible for installation and use of the
machine according to what stated in this manual.
This machine is designed for the use in industrial and not
for domestic environment.
Before installing the machine consider the electromagnetic
features of the surrounding area. Avoid to install the welding
machine near to:
a) cables, which feed other devices or carry signals,
telephonic cables, passing over, below or near the
welding machine;
b) broadcast transmitter or receiver;
c) safety devices, for example to protect a system;
d) measuring and calibrating equipment.
Consider furthermore what follows:
a) the state of health of people in the working area, for
example people using pace-maker or earphone;
b) the compatibility of other systems. The user must verify
that all devices in the surrounding area are compatible.
This can require further preventive measures.
The extent of the considered surrounding area depends
on the building features and its utilisation. The considered
area may extend beyond the groundwork.
Before connecting the spot welder to the main supply,
check that the data on the machine plate corresponds to
the supply voltage and frequency and that its main switch
(pos. C, fig. 1-2) is on the "O" position.

Install a circuit breaker on the power supply line in order
to give adequate protection against overload and short
circuit.
Connect the supply cables to the board (pos. A, fig. 1-2)
and earth the machine by connecting a cable with adequate
section to the clamp marked
completing the connections, refit the protective shield on
the terminal board.
Table 1 indicates the values of current-carrying capacity
suggested for time-delay fuses chosen in accordance with
the maximum rated current supplied by the welding
machine and with the rated mains voltage.
