MANUAL MODE

Settings in Manual Mode: In Manual mode, the speed of the wire and the voltage for the welding can be
adjusted using dials ① & ②
Display in Manual Mode (the mode selected will be displayed at the bottom of the screen).
Before Welding
The speed of the wire is permenantly displayed on the screen.
The value of the voltage selected is displayed on the screen.
During Weling
The actual voltage and current of the welding are shown. These values will remain displayed for 3 seconds
after welding has stopped, or until the settings are changed.
Advice
The wire speed adjustment is often determined « by the noise »: the arc must be stable and have a low
crackling. If the speed is too low, the arc is not continuous. If the speed is too high, the arc crackles and
the wire pushes back the torch.
SYNERGIC MODE
This mode allows quick and easy welding and has been optimised for welding corner pieces.
To obtain an identical quality with downhand welding, it is recommended to slightly reduce the setting of
metal thickness.
Basic Settings
The settings for the speed of the wire, and the voltage of the arc are modified according to:
- The metal thickness chosen.......................................Dial ②
- The material...............................................................Dial ③
Warning: When Steel (Fe) is selected, the machine will display two options for gas settings:
1) The first is optimised for Ar+CO²
2) The second is optimised for pure CO²
- The diameter of the wire selected.............................Button ④
Advanced Setting : Arc Length

comprehensive setting. If you are welding for the first time, we recommend you set the arc length to 0.
When using cored wire, it is recommended to use the same settings as with Steel, Ar+CO²
and diameter 0,8mm, also adjusting arc length to the +6 setting.

Example of Synergic set-up.
- Press and hold the Mode button to display SYNERGIC - this will be shown at the bottom left of the
screen
- Press and hold the Material button to display the selected material in the top left of the screen. For
each material, recommendations are listed:
The shielding gas is displayed in the top centre of the screen.
Compatible wire diameters are indicated in the top right of the screen.
- The wire diameter currently selected will flash, change using button ②if needed.
- Adjust the thickness of the sheet metal to weld.
- Adjust the arc length if necessary.
DUTY CYCLE & WELDING ENVIRONMENT IN USE
• The welding unit describes a flat output characteristic (constant voltage). The duty cycles following the
standard EN60974-1 (at 40°C on a 10mn cycle) are indicated in the table here below:
X / 60974-1 @ 40°C
PEARL 180.2
PEARL XL 180.4
Note : The machines' duty cycle has been tested at room temperature (40°C) and has been determined
by simulation.
