Below­in­chart­form­are­various­symptoms­of­a­
malfunctioning­system,­possible­defects­that­will­cause­
there­symptoms­and­suggested­corrective­measure.­The­
SYMPTOMS
Burner­lights­off­very­slow
Burner­flashback
(roaring­noise­during­operation­and­ceramic­
grid­surface­will­be­dark)
Ceramic­grid­or­burner­sooting­up
(when­new­or­after­cleaning)
Pilot­cannot­be­ignited
Pilot­lights­but­goes­out
Pilot­stays­lit­and­main­burner­will­not­light
Failure­to­ignite

15. FREQUENCY OF OPERATOR CHECKS

Intermittent Use
Appliances­that­are­used­seasonally­should­be­checked­before­
shutdown­and­again­before­the­next­use.
Dusty,­wet­or­corrosive­environment.­Since­these­environments­
can­cause­the­gas­control­to­deteriorate­more­rapidly,­the­system­
should­be­checked­more­often.
The gas control should be replaced if:
a.­­It­does­not­perform­properly­after­troubleshooting.
b.­­The­gas­control­knob­is­hard­to­turn

HIGH ALTITUDE OPERATION
1.­ Please­contact­the­factory­for­a­detailed­High­Altitude­
Conversion­Kit­to­suit­your­specific­need.
1.1­Be­prepared­to­answer­factory­questions­
regarding:­Type­of­fuel­for­the­proposed­appliance­
conversion,­gas­pressure­available­at­site,­and­specific­
altitude­at­site.
2.­ "The­conversion­shall­be­carried­out­by­a­
manufacturer's­authorized­representative,­
in­accordance­with­the­requirements­of­the­
manufacturer,­provincial­or­territorial­authorities­
having­jurisdiction­and­in­accordance­with­their­
requirements."
3.­ High­Altitude­Conversion­Kits­will­include­high­
altitude­rating­plate­with­stamped­data,­necessary­
orifices­or­burner­as­required­for­specific­need­and­
additional­installation­instructions.
4.­ In­Canada,­Heater­installations­at­High­Altitudes­shall­
comply­with­the­applicable­construction­provisions­of­
the­current­standard­CAN1-2.17,­gas­fired­appliances­
for­use­at­high­altitudes.
