S A F E T Y I N S T R U C T I O N S
These operating instructions are the manufacturer's (CRESTO) basic instructions for the correct use and inspection of the
Smartline X. This emergency rescue device is only intended to be used for emergency evacuation from elevated incident arears
(max. one persons), where other means of escape is insufficient.
All technical limitations and the safe use of the device are listed in the following manual.
Equipment use must be in accordance with legal requirements and the manufacturer's specified training.

The equipment is solely dimensioned for rescue and evacuation only in accordance with the equipment's technical data
and the manufacturer's (CRESTO) instructions cf. relevant technical standards. Special attention must be made regarding
maximum safe work load, handling and distance in use.

All other forms of use, e.g. hoisting/descending goods, are prohibited and illegal and will terminate all liable and legal
obligations between the user and the manufacturer.
3.
Service, inspection, repair and training must be carried out in accordance with the producer's guidelines, by certified
competent persons.
4.
Section 3 concerns the standards' requirements that the named actions and meas- ures may only be carried out by the
manufacturer's (CRESTO) personnel who are documented as competent, or subcontractor personnel who are documented
by the manufacturer as competent.

In accordance with the applicable working environment rules and standards, the safe and responsible use of the equipment
requires suitable training, cf. 4.
6.
Equipment users must be in good health and good physical condition. In case of known disorders, the user must be informed
by his or her own doctor of possible con- sequences, as conditions such as cardiovascular conditions, diabetes, blood
pressure deviations, epilepsy, and balance problems, etc., can be hazardous to safety when using the equipment.

Equipment use must be supported by the company's own accident emergency proce- dures related to daily work.

D I S C R E P A N C Y
Smartline X may be used for teaching/training. Such use exerts higher loads on the equip- ment, than normal emergency use
would. The producer does not recommend the use of emergency devices for training use. This is due to the fact that the technical
specification in production is optimised to emergency use only. For further information on training requirements contact:

I N T R O D U C T I O N
This document gives information about the correct use of the Smartline X in different situations. These instructions must be read
and fully understood by all persons who are going to use the Smartline X. We also recommend that all employers must read these
instructions carefully, to ensure a good safety level together with a full understanding of the product and its use. Users shall be
trained in the use of the equipment.
This product is made in accordance with the PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425, which ap- plies to construction, design and
production of PPE and complies with EN341:2011 Descender devices, class 2D.

C O M P L E T E K I T
The Smartline X is an emergency descender that can be used for descents by the user or an evacuee from heights up to
200 metres.
It is A SINGLE USE ONLY device, which means that after use the device has to be sent to an approved body for inspection and
replacement of the line. The Smartline X may be supplied with different line lengths as specified on the equipment.
