Widespread Lavatory Fittings
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
These installation instructions apply to all products with the following fitting base
numbers: 403, 404A, 408A, 409, 744, 746, 759A, 760, 794, 795, 877, 1877, 1404A,
1746, 2404.
1. Disassemble and remove all parts (items 4, 10-11) from spout base. (Note sequence of
assembly).
2. Apply putty or assemble rubber washer to underside of spout base to assure a good seal and
level fit.
3. Place spout body shank through hole in sink and assemble mounting hardware to shank.
Tighten securely.
4. Disassemble cartridges from side bodies and set aside.
NOTE: Some cartridges may come in pre-packs (disassembly not required).
5. Assemble below deck mounting hardware to side bodies.
6. Be sure that 1" diameter flat gasket (item 12) is located in recess of mixing tee.
7. Align tee assembly with holes in sink and spout shank, then assemble washer, retainer and
locknut (in that order) to extended nipple below tee.
8. Assemble above deck mounting hardware to each side body.*
9. Hand tighten until side bodies protrude evenly, 9/16" above deck or use VALVE BODY HEIGHT
GAGE to measure to correct height.
10. Secure fitting to deck by tightening locknuts from below deck.
11. Assemble supplies.
12. For installation and adjustment of cartridges refer to pages 20-32.
13. If escutcheons are included, assemble to fitting and tighten down using escutcheon nuts. If
desired, apply a bead of plumbers putty around locknut before assembling escutcheons.
14. For installation of spout (if required) refer to pages 33-34.
15. For installation of waste fitting (if required) refer to pages 35-37.
16. After completion of installation, remove aerator and flush lines and faucet for approximately
one minute.
