Function of the unit
Before using the circular pipe saw, the staff in charge of its operation and use must read and
understand all sections of this manual.
Operators must not accept the responsibility of operating the circular saw until they have received
suitable training by competent personnel, authorised for this purpose. Only people who are
properly trained and qualified and who have demonstrated an understanding of safe and correct
operation and maintenance shall be allowed to use the circular saw.
Therefore, special emphasis must be placed on the following aspects:
• Read, understand and obey all of the DANGER, WARNING and CAUTION messages and
the operating instructions for the circular saw and in this manual.
• Ensure that the circular pipe saw is used in a way that satisfies the purpose for which it was
designed, as determined in the general description of the machine (see Section 2. Overall
description of the machine).
• All staff that operate the circular saw must be familiar with the emergency controls and the
specific emergency operation procedures in this manual.
• Read, understand and obey all of the company and local authority regulations
corresponding to the operation and use of the circular pipe saw.
Before using the circular pipe saw you must inspect it meticulously in search of evidence of
damage as a result of its transport or use. It is the responsibility of the maintenance staff to
perform all of the preparations necessary to leave the circular pipe saw in perfect conditions for
use.
CHECK THAT ALL THE DANGER, WARNING AND CAUTION SIGNS FOR THE CIRCULAR
PIPE SAW ARE LEGIBLE AND SECURELY INSTALLED.
The pipe saw is designed for use as a tool for cutting pipes at the installation site. The pipe saw
can only be used to cut circular pipes, with a diameter of 1/2" - 8" (20 to 250 mm) and a maximum
wall thickness of 1/4" (8 mm) in steel and other ferrous and non-ferrous materials; and 3/4" (20
mm) in plastics, in the case of the PIPECUT TURBO 250, and a diameter 3" - 14" (80 to 400 mm)
and a maximum wall thickness of 1/4" (8mm) in steel and other ferrous and non-ferrous materials;
and 3/4" (20 mm) in plastic, in the case of the PIPECUT TURBO 400. The pipe saw can be used to
cut pipes in any conventional material, such as steel, stainless steel, cast iron, copper, aluminium
and plastic. The pipe saw is designed for intermittent use in short periods. The machine must be
stopped for 10 minutes to work for 2.5 minutes. The pipe saw has not been designed for use in
industrial production processes. Use the pipe supports to hold the pipes.
