Installation as of ´09
1. a) Remove the seat.
b) Remove the storage compartment cover, center section and lower
section.
2. On the left side of the lower section of the storage compartment,
create a notch for the alarm system cable as shown in the diagram.
3. Remove the cable binder from the alarm system wiring harness and
route the wiring harness in the lower section of the storage
compartment. Guide the alarm system cable through the notch and
mount the lower section of the storage compartment.
4. Pull off the blind connector (1).
5. Clean and grease the rear of the alarm system and the lower section of
the storage compartment. Attach the self-adhesive snap fastener (2) on
the back of the alarm system. Press the second snap fastener in place
so it is flush with the first. Pull off the protective film of the snap
fastener and position the alarm system so that it is in contact with the
left and front wall of the lower section and press together hard. When
the snap fastener is attached properly, it will provide a secure hold for
the alarm system. However, as an option, you can secure the alarm
system with cable binders. To do so, drill four holes into the lower
section through which you can guide the cable binders. Connect the
alarm system with the wiring harness.
Place the rubber grommet (3) over the alarm system and secure it in
position (4) using the cable binder.
6. Clean and grease the inside of the center section and cover. Attach the
self-adhesive REED switch (with cable) inside the center section and
the self-adhesive REED switch (without cable) inside the cover
(approx. 35 mm from the rear edge - see figure) and a distance of at
most 4-5 mm from each other.
Additionally screw the REED switch (with cable) into place.
Mount the center section of the storage compartment and connect the
REED switch connector with the alarm system wiring harness.
