8. Start the Turf–Truckster, release the parking brake
and drive to a water source.
9. Turn Turf–Truckster motor off and engage parking
brake.
10. Be sure to check pre–screen at recommended
intervals.
11. BE SURE the tank inlet water filter element has been
installed and the filter is clean. If the filter element is
dirty, change filter before filling unit with water.
NOTICE
Clean filtered water MUST be used to insure good
performance from the system. This will also help
extend the life of all related components.
12. Connect the water fill hose to the filter housing and
fill the tank with approximately 160 gallons (606
liters) of water. If the water supply is over 100 PSI,
a water regulator must be used when filling the tank
through the inlet fill filter.
13. While filling tank, check for any water leaks. If any
leaks are detected, turn the water supply off and
repair the leak before proceeding.
14. BE SURE the sequencer adjustment screw is
backed off so the system will operate in the steady
stream state during the start–up cycle. Loosen the
lock nut and turn the screw counterclockwise 2
revolutions.
NOTICE
S
The Envirojet system has been winterized at the
factory
with environmentally friendly antifreeze,
however DO NOT inject it into sports turf,
waterways, etc. Properly dispose of all used
antifreeze.
15. With the tank full of water, test the operation of the
Envirojet Injection System.
NOTICE
S
BE SURE the bypass valve is rotated to the
"Recirculation Mode" position and the tank shutoff
valve is open before starting auxiliary engine.
!
CAUTION
Before proceeding, BE SURE the injection
manifold is clear of hands, feet and/or materials
that could be propelled or damaged by the force
of the jets. ALWAYS wear eye protection when
operating or working around the Envirojet.
16. Verify the following conditions before starting the
Envirojet Injection System:
10
A. Tank is filled with clean fresh water.
B. Bypass valve on operators control arm is in the
"Recirculation Mode".
C. Tank shutoff valve is open.
17. With
the
parking
transmission in neutral, start the auxiliary engine and
let engine idle for approximately 3–5 minutes. The
pump is engaged when the engine is started and the
water is circulated through the system and out of the
nozzles. This warm–up period extends engine life
and purges air out of the system. Air in the system
creates turbulence that can damage the pump and
the accumulator bladder. After engine has been
allowed to run for 3–5 minutes, bring engine to full
throttle.
18. Rotate the bypass valve clockwise to the "Injection
Mode" position to check the operational set–up. The
Envirojet Injection System should be emitting steady
jet streams from the manifold that should be
inspected from a safe distance.
!
DANGER
When inspecting the jet blast, particles from the
ground surface may become airborne. To
prevent severe eye damage, ALWAYS wear eye
protection.
19. Inspect the jet blast from the manifold at a safe
distance. If any jet is not functioning or the jet stream
is not straight shut unit off and make repairs as
necessary. Remove and clean the backpressure
valve and nozzle or replace as needed.
!
WARNING
NEVER make any repairs to the jets, manifold or
any component of the high pressure system
while the unit is running. High pressure water or
chemicals emitting from jets can and will cause
very serious injuries.
20. Rotate the bypass valve counterclockwise to the
"Recirculation Mode" position. Place the auxiliary
engine speed control in low speed and shut engine
off.
21. Turn the adjusting screw clockwise to setup the
pulse mode operation. Initially set the hex
adjustment screw by tightening finger tight and then
tighten an additional 2/3 revolution.
22. Start the auxiliary engine and bring to full throttle.
Rotate the bypass valve clockwise to the "Injection
Mode" position to check the operational set–up. The
Envirojet Injection System should begin pulsing and
jet blasts from the manifold may be inspected from
a safe distance.
