SAFETY RELIEF VALVE
The safety relief valve (refer to Figure 2) is mounted on
the control block with the sequencer and accumulator.
The relief valve is factory set for system and operator
protection and MUST NOT be readjusted in the field. See
your authorized Ransomes dealer if service is required.
The system is designed to operate at a maximum
pressure of 3500 PSI. The relief valve is set at a higher
pressure to allow for dynamic pressure peaks.
If the sequencer is incorrectly adjusted the relief valve
will expel pressure. This will protect the system and
pump from over pressurization. If this should occur,
adjust the sequencer to 3500 PSI maximum system
operating pressure.
MANIFOLD CHECK VALVES
The manifold check valves are positioned between the
injection manifold and the spray nozzles. The check
valves are manufactured with a replaceable o–ring,
poppet cone and spring. If the spring should fail, you will
either experience a steady stream of water or there will
be no flow at all. If a spring breaks, a piece of the broken
spring or O–ring may become lodged in the nozzle tip
preventing water from flowing from the tip.
MANIFOLD BRUSHES
The manifold front and side brushes are located on the
lower edges of the injection manifold cover. The brushes
are used to prevent splashing of chemicals and debris
that may become airborne.

TANK FILL INLET AND WATER FILTER
The tank fill inlet and water filter housing are located on
the upper right rear portion of the water tank (refer to
Figure 3). The water filter MUST be changed regularly.
The life of the filter depends greatly on the condition of
the water being used. The filter should be changed
between 25 and 50 hours of operation. A shutoff valve
and check valve are provided to prevent backwashes of
chemicals into the filter.

TANK SHUTOFF, PRE–SCREEN & DRAIN
The tank shutoff and pre–screen are located at the lower
right rear corner of the tank (refer to Figure 4). The
screen should be cleaned weekly under normal
operating conditions. When applying wettable powders,
the screen should be checked daily. When applying
polymers the screen should be removed before
attempting to inject polymers. Be sure to replace the
screen when finished. A drain valve is located between
the pre–screen and the pump.
HOSES
The double braided high pressure hoses are specifically
designed for proper system operation. The hoses are
encased with a protective nylon cover. If any of the hoses
or covers show signs of wear, they should be replaced
immediately with original equipment parts.
!
WARNING
NEVER check for water leaks with your hands.
High pressure water leaks can and will cause
severe injuries to hands or other body parts.
HIGH PRESSURE WATER PUMP
The high pressure water pump is located on the lower
right side of the rear of the vehicle (refer to Figure 4). The
pump is driven by a belt and pulley system powered by
a 25 h.p. auxiliary air cooled engine.
