Troubleshooting
Before contacting service personnel, refer to the following instructions to check and to correct

Symptom
Scale does not turn on
Scale battery will not
charge.
Questionable weight or
the scale does not zero
The display shows
"UNLOAD" message
Backlight display won't
illuminate
The display shows "HELP"

Possible Cause
Depleted battery
1. Faulty electrical outlet
2. Bad power supply
1. External object interfering
with the scale
2. Scale is not level
3. Scale is out of calibration
1. The weighing pan/tray is
not attached correctly.
2. The items on the
weighing pan/tray exceed
the scale's capacity:
3400KL / 3401KL:
176oz / 5000g
3400KG / 3400KG-C:
5000g x 1g
Battery is low
There may be a problem with
the electronics.

Corrective Action
Connect the scale to the battery
charger and charge the battery.
1. Use a different outlet.
2. Replace battery charger.
1. Check that there are no
objects under the weighing tray
or pan. Remove any objects
that could be interfering with the
scale.
2. Use the adjustable feet and
level indicator to level the scale.
3. Check weight with known
weight value.
1. Turn off the scale. Check
that the weighing pan/tray is
correctly in place. Turn on
the scale again.
2. Remove items to below the
scale capacity.
Connect the scale to the battery
charger and charge the battery.
