pin, 1 reel-holder set (A, B, and C, - Fig. 1), 1 reel-holder set (D, E, F, and G - Fig.
2), 1 tape-pulling cartridge (J1) (Fig. 15), 3 rigid tape rods (H1) (Fig. 14), 1 glue
dispenser bucket, this instruction manual and other documentation.
4. PLACING
Place the machine on a well-cleared workbench or table that permits the edge
to be handled with no obstacles and level the machine, if required, by adjusting
the legs (S) (Fig. 3) for perfect positioning.
See the space taken up by the pre-gluer shown in (Fig. 15).
5. ASSEMBLING THE REEL-HOLDER, CAPACITY
Remove the screws C and G and the washers B and F (Fig. 1 and 2), while holding
tube E (Fig. 2) to prevent it becoming detached.
Attach reel-holders A and D (Fig. 8), keeping the separator tube E (Fig. 8) inside
the reel-holder axle D (Fig. 8). Fix them to the support with screws C and G and
washers B and F, as indicated in (Fig. 8).
Total capacity of glued tape reel-holder:
Tape thickness 0.4 mm ............................220 m
in reel centring device D. 85 (Fig. 11)
Tape thickness 0.8 mm ............................150 m
in reel centring device D. 85 (Fig. 11)
Tape thickness 1.2 mm ............................110 m
in reel centring device D. 85 (Fig. 11)
Tape thickness 2 mm ............................68 m
in reel centring device D. 150 (Fig. 9)

The label (F1) (Fig. 14) indicates the approximate height of a 100-m reel of
0.4, 0.8 and 1.2-mm glued tape, wound on the D. 85 centring device (Fig. 11),
and a 50-m reel of 2-mm glued tape on the D. 150 centring device (Fig. 9).
Large reels of unglued 2-mm tape can be easily divided into 50-m reels for
gluing by winding them manually onto the loader (E1) (Fig. 14) on the machine,
on D.150 centring devices (Fig. 9). When the height of the wound tape reaches
the mark = 100 m, 0.8 mm on the label (F1) (Fig. 14), this represents 50 m of
2-mm unglued tape.
6. ADJUSTING THE WINDER
The knobs (L and R) allow the space between the reel-holder covers (O and Q)
(Fig. 14) to be adjusted to the width of the edge.
The position of the guide wheels (N1) (Fig. 14 and 15) which guide the tape
to the gluing roller is adjusted by moving them on the bar (G1) (Fig. 14). The
position of the pivot guides (N) (Fig. 14 and 15) which guide the tape to the
reel-holder is adjusted by the nuts (U) (Fig. 15). The internal pivot (N) and
guide wheel (N1) (Fig. 14) are aligned in the factory with the gluing roller (K)
(Fig. 5), the adjustable guide (M) (Fig. 4) and the edge of the tape; therefore
only the external pivot (N) and guide wheel (N1) (Fig. 14) should be adjusted
to the width of the tape.
The height of the support (Y) (Fig. 15) and the guide wheel support (G1) (Fig.14)
are also adjustable and held in place using the knobs (K) (Fig. 8). To glue 2-mm
thick tape, the support (Y) (Fig. 15) should be in the highest position, and higher
than the gluing roller (K) (Fig. 6).
The tape winding pressure can be adjusted using the wheel (X) (Fig.14).
7. PREPARING THE REEL CENTRING MECHANISM
Two reel-centring devices (M) (Fig. 14) with a diameter of 150 mm (Fig. 9) are
supplied with the loader. Two 120-mm diameter reel-centring devices can be
obtained by cutting the legs (H) (Fig. 9) and another 2 of 85-mm diameter by
cutting the legs (H) (Fig. 10).
The 120 and 150-mm diameter centring devices can be reconstructed from the
85-mm one by attaching the legs J of the larger diameter centring device to
the slots I of the next largest diameter device (Fig. 12 and 13).
It is advisable to use the centering devices d.85 for rolling tapes up to 1.2 mm
thickness and the centering devices d.150 for tapes of 2 mm.
2
For gluing large reels using the DV25P motorised roller feeder and large reel
2
support (optional accessories), you need to make a D. 250 mm solid wood
centring device which fits onto the shaft of the roller receiver and which has
a slot to hold it, as shown in (Fig. 17).
If the internal diameter of the reel is greater than the centring devices supplied
with the machine, you will need to make a solid wood centring device of the
required measurement.
Disposable cardboard rings are available for winding reels:
25.45.659 Bag of 25 cardboard rings d. 85
25.45.660 Bag of 25 cardboard rings d. 150
To wind the tape onto a disposable ring, you must first attach it to the machine's
plastic ring using adhesive tape.
8. CONNECTING THE MACHINE
Before plugging in the machine, make sure that the power supply
voltage is the same as that shown on the specifications plate.
The machine must be connected using the mains lead supplied to an earthed
220-240 V, single-phase mains supply, with a minimum capacity of 15 A and
fitted with the required safety devices.
9. DESCRIPTION OF CONTROLS
Motor on-off switch (A) (Fig. 3). The motor does not start turning as soon as
the switch is in the on position; it only comes on when the glue is hot and
liquefied, at which point the switch lights up.
On-off switch (B) (Fig. 3) for the glue-heating elements, with operating indicator
light that turns off automatically when the working temperature is reached.
Temperature regulator (C) (Fig. 3), which permits the glue temperature to be
regulated.
Glue temperature indicator thermometer (R) (Fig. 3).
10. ADJUSTING THE PRE-GLUER WHILE TURNED OFF
The machine leaves the factory prepared for 1mm edge and
adjusted with a load of 100 g, for work with Hot Melt POL-
YOLEFIN (PO) adhesive glue with 0.25 mm glue layer.
Adjusting the edge pitch thickness
If you want to glue an edge thicker than 1 mm, you must adjust the clamping
assembly as follows:
First of all ensure that the press assembly is in the working position with
pressure roller (G) (Fig. 5) in its closest position to the gluing roller (K) (Fig. 5).
If not in this position, just unlock it by pulling knob (J) while holding the press
assembly (I) with the other hand (Fig. 5) so that it does not accidentally knock
the gluing roller (K) (Fig. 5) on lifting automatically to the working position.
Next, turn screw (E) (Fig. 4) clockwise until the required increase in pitch
thickness is obtained.
Once adjusted, the pitch between the gluing roller (K) and pressure roller (G) (Fig.
5) must be slightly less than the thickness of the edge, so that it can be drawn
by the rollers. For edges with a thickness of 2 mm and above, we recommend
setting the pitch to 1 mm less than the thickness of the edge.
Under no circumstances must the gluing roller (K) and the pressure roller (G)
(Fig. 5) come into contact, as this would get dirty with glue and cause it to
deteriorate prematurely over time.
Adjusting the edge guide
The area in which the edge enters the machine is established by the position
of the adjustable guide (M) (Fig. 4) and is held in place by knob (L). This guide
is adjusted in the factory to receive the edge from the loader perfectly aligned.
Preparing the Loader
Loosen the knobs (L and R), and remove the reel-holder covers (O and Q) (Fig. 14).
Prepare the reel-centring device (M) (Fig. 14) with the appropriate diameter,
(Fig. 9, 10 and 11) and insert it in the reel-holder (B1) (Fig. 14) (see section 7).
Place the edge roll (O) (Fig. 14) in the centring device (M) (Fig. 14).
