Kit Contents
The Gallagher HR3 Reader box contains:
• Gallagher HR3 Hand Held EID Tag Reader (Bluetooth enabled)
• Reader to RS232 (weighscale comms/power) cable
• 12 volt ba ery cable
• Bluetooth RS232 adaptor with short extension cable
• USB to RS232 cable
• Instruc on manual
• 15 V DC ba ery charger (100-240 VAC)
• MyScale Pro CD
Terminology
The following are terms and abbrevia ons used throughout this manual:

RS232 device
Bluetooth is a short-range radio communica on technology.
It enables data to be transmi ed wirelessly over short distances.
Mounted in the HR3 Reader handle. Sends Electronic ID tag data to
the Bluetooth device (RS232 or USB).
Connected to the Serial port of the Scale and receives the tag data
sent by the HR3 Reader.
Receives Bluetooth communica ons from the Reader and converts
the received informa on into RS232 format so it can be passed onto
a Scale.
The Bluetooth module in the Reader and the Bluetooth device are
paired.
