HANDSET OPERATION

Transmitting
To transmit using your handset:
1. Hold the handset to your ear and approximately five
centimeters (two inches) from your mouth.
2. Press the PTT button.
3. Speak directly into the grill openings located at the
bottom of the handset microphone face.
4. Release the PTT to listen.
5. Adjust the handset volume through the volume control
knob located on the front of the mobile radio.
Receiving
To receive using your handset:
1. Remove the handset from the hang-up cup.
2. After removing the handset from the hang-up cup the
audio will be re-routed from the mobile radio internal/
external speakers to the handset earpiece.
3. Adjust the handset volume through the volume control
knob located on the front of the mobile radio only in the
presence of audio.
