Push the spark plug connector onto the
spark plug!
Starting the engine
During restart, lengthy standstill times and tempe-
ratures below 10 °C:
1. Press primer knob "a" 6x. (Fig. K).
2. Press primer knob "b" 10x. (Fig. K).
3. Push in the switch knob and, at the same
time, pull and hold the motor switch bracket
towards the top handlebar (Fig. L).
ADVICE
Keep hold of the motor switch bracket
during operation.
4. Pull out the cable starter briskly, and then al-
low it to wind back in slowly (Fig. M).
5. Allow the engine to warm up.
ADVICE
The primer knobs do not need to be
actuated when the engine is at opera-
ting temperature.
The engine has a fixed gas setting.
Speed control is not possible.
Turn the engine off
1. Release the control bar (picture L).
WARNING!
Risk of injuries due to turning spind-
les!
The cutter spindle does not stop turning
immediately. Do not touch the bottom of
the equipment shortly after switching off.
Installing and removing the grass catcher
1. Turn the engine off before installing/removing
the grass catcher.
2. Wait until the cutter spindle has come to a
complete stop!
General notes on operation
The blade system must be able to turn enti-
rely freely in order for the machine to be star-
ted
Only control the machine using the hand-
lebar. This ensures the necessary safety
clearance.
Keep the exhaust and engine clean
Make sure you can stand securely on slopes

Always scarify across the slope
Never scarify on steep slopes
Always scarify at walking pace
Never tilt or transport the machine when the
engine is running
Have the machine checked by a specialist if
the following events occur:
After running into an obstacle
if the engine stops suddenly
If a blade is bent
If the blade shaft is bent
If the V-belt is defective
MAINTENANCE AND CARE
DANGER!
Danger of injury on the blade shaft and
on hot engine parts - wear protective gl-
oves!
Disconnect the spark plug connector before
any maintenance and cleaning work. Wait for
the shaft to come to a stop.
Wait until the engine has fully cooled.
Wear protective gloves.
Do not open the housing.
Only use genuine spare parts.
Only renew worn or damaged implements
and pins as a set, in order to avoid imbalan-
ces.
Do not spray the equipment with water! Pene-
trating water (ignition system, carburettor...)
can lead to malfunctions.
Clean the machine after each use (scraper,
cloth, etc.).
Removing the scarifier roller (picture N)
1. Remove the bearing screw (1).
2. Tilt the bearing halves (2) upwards.
3. Lift the scarifier roller from the lower bearing
half and extract it out from the drive side (3).
Assembly is carried out in reverse order.
Removing the aerating roller
Removal of the aerating roller and replacement of
steel spring hooks are similar to scarifier roller.
