Never carry the tool by the air supply hose. To prevent
accidental startup, disconnect the air supply line when
moving the tool to another location.
Immediately shut off the tool and disconnect the air supply
if you notice unusual sound or excessive vibration. Have a
qualified repair technician inspect the tool and repair before
placing it back into operation.
These Safety Instructions are not intended to be all
inclusive. The operator should also study and comply with
all applicable Federal, State, and Local Regulations.
Maintenance
Implement a comprehensive safety maintenance program
to provide regular inspection for all phases of tool operation
and air supply equipment.
Daily:
•
Visual inspection of air supply hose and connections
•
Inspect all external tool components
•
Inspect the drive socket or bit for cracks or damage
•
Make sure the drive socket or bit is securely mounted.
•
Check the tool for excessive vibration or noise.
Weekly:
•
Inspect the air supply hose for wear or damage.
•
Make sure the air inlet adapter is securely tightened.
•
Make sure all tool fasteners are properly tightened.
•
Inspect any guards (if equipped) for damage.
6 months or sooner if needed:
•
Check individual parts and replace as necessary.
•
Replace all o-rings and seals.
Only qualified and trained personnel are to repair this
equipment.
Replace worn or damaged parts using only genuine brand
replacement parts manufactured or supplied by Apex Tool
Group, LLC.
Disposal
Observe and comply with all local disposal
guidelines for all components of this equipment
and it's packaging,
Product Instructions
55 Series Stall Tools
The 55 series stall type assembly tools are designed to
develop maximum rated torque at 90 psig air pressure. The
torque output is controlled by a pressure regulator installed
in the air supply line. Adjust the regulator until the desired
torque output is reached.
55 Series Clecomatic® Clutch Tools
The 55 series Clecomatic® clutch assembly tools are
designed to operate on 90 psig maximum air pressure
but do not depend on controlled air pressure to maintain
accurate torque. Accurate torque is achieved by setting the
EN
Clecomatic® clutch to the desired torque required for the
application. The tool will shut off automatically when the
torque setting is reached. Releasing the throttle will allow
the tool to reset for the next cycle.
55 Series Joint Rate Tools
The 55 series joint rate tools are designed to give repeatable
torque and automatic shut off, regardless of the joint
conditions (i.e. soft pull, hard pull). Target torque is achieved
through the use of an in-line pressure regulator. Note: To
insure automatic shut off, the air pressure should not be
adjusted below 40 psig at the tool, with the tool operating.
Clecomatic® Clutch Adjustment
Refer to Illustration 7 for the component parts drawing of the
clutch assembly.
Depress the retaining pin and rotate the adjustment cover
180° so it lines up with the adjustment slot. With the angle
head end of the tool facing away from the operator, use a
1/8" diameter pin to rotate the adjustment nut clockwise
to increase the torque setting and counterclockwise to
decrease the torque setting.
Note: The steel ball is a positive lock for the
adjustment nut and must be located in a
locking slot before the adjustment cover is
rotated to the locked position.

Metering Valve (Speed Adjustment)
Using a 5/16" hex wrench, the metering nut, located in the
air inlet bushing, can be rotated clockwise to reduce the tool
speed or counterclockwise to increase the tool speed.
