4. In the following steps, make sure the adapter
sleeve remains against the stop (Fig. 4, item
3) on the CRI and does not slip down.

Depending on the CRI, a sleeve or ring may
conceal the snap ring.
5. Slide sleeve or ring up so that the snap ring
is visible.

The snap ring must be broken apart where
the wall thickness of the CRI is the greatest,
as otherwise the CRI can be damaged.

On CRIs with a solenoid valve, the greatest
wall thickness is found on the side opposite
the high-pressure connection.
6. Rotate the opening in the snap ring to the
side with the high-pressure connection.
7. Push CRI into the dismantling tool as far as
possible as shown in Fig. 5 and hold it in this
position.
 The snap ring (Fig. 5, item 3) is positioned
exactly at the height of the replaceable
cutting insert (Fig. 5, item 2).

The CRI will be damaged if the snap ring is
positioned incorrectly in the dismantling tool.
CAUTION – Risk of injury from sharp
edges!

Do not place fingers between the
replaceable cutting insert and CRI.
WARNING - Risk of injury due to
parts flying off!
¶
Wear safety goggles.
¶
Make sure there is no one in the
immediate vicinity.
¶
Remove the snap ring at a separate
workstation.
8. Turn the spindle clockwise, applying max.
12 Nm of torque.
 The replaceable cutting insert is pressed
against the snap ring.
 The replaceable cutting insert breaks apart
the snap ring on the CRI.
9. Turn the spindle counterclockwise until the
CRI can be removed from the dismantling
tool.
10. Dispose of the dismantled snap ring in accor-
dance with applicable regulations.
11. Inspect the groove for the snap ring on the
CRI for damage.

If the CRI was damaged as the result of
improper positioning in the dismantling tool,
it may no longer be used.
