INSTALLING THE INTERFACE

With the key in the off position:
• Connect the 18-pin harness with stripped leads, and the 6538 harness, into the interface.
• Connect the 4-pin black harness into the keypad on the kit.
• Connect the 6538 harness to the wiring harness in the vehicle.
Note: If using the ASWC-1 (sold separately), connect it after you program and test the
interface, with the key in the off position.

INITIALIZING THE INTERFACE

• Start the vehicle.
• With the vehicle running, turn the HVAC on, wait (5) seconds, turn the HVAC off, wait (5)
seconds, and then turn the HVAC back on.
• The HVAC controls are now detected.

FINAL ASSEMBLY

• Locate the factory antenna connector in the dash, and complete all necessary connections to
the radio. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter from Metra.
• Test the radio and climate controls for proper operation.
• Audio level adjustment (amplified models only):
• With the vehicle and radio turned on, turn the volume up 3/4 of the way.
• With a small flat-blade screwdriver, adjust the potentiometer clockwise
to raise the audio level; counterclockwise to lower the audio level.
• Once at a desired level, audio level adjustment is complete.
• Secure the completed assembly into the dash using the factory hardware. Reassemble the
dash in reverse order of disassembly using the radio trim panel with keypad.
Note: In vehicles equipped with the factory 8" screen, use (2) #8 x 3/8" Phillips screws
and the (2) metal inserts provided.
