For models without a factory amplifier:

From the 18-pin harness with stripped leads to the aftermarket radio:
• Connect the (2) Red wires to the accessory wire.
Note: If installing an ASWC-1 (sold separately), there will be an accessory wire there to
connect as well
• Connect the Orange wire to the illumination wire, AND the Orange wire on the 4-pin
harness with stripped leads. If the aftermarket radio doesn't have an illumination wire, just
connect the (2) Orange wires together.
Attention! The following (4) wires are reversed on purpose. These wires will not match "color
code" to the aftermarket radio.
• Connect the Gray wire to the right rear positive speaker output.
• Connect the Gray/Black wire to the right rear negative speaker output.
• Connect the White wire to the left rear positive speaker output.
• Connect the White/Black wire to the left rear negative speaker output.
The following (3) wires are for multimedia/navigation radios that provide these wires.
• Connect the Green/Purple wire to the reverse wire.
• Connect the Light Green wire to the parking brake wire.
• Connect the Blue/Pink wire to the VSS/speed sense wire.
• Connect the Yellow RCA jack to the rear-view camera input.

CONNECTIONS TO BE MADE

• Tape off and disregard the following (2) wires, they will not be used in this application:
From the 6538 harness to the aftermarket radio:
• Connect the Black wire to the ground wire.
• Connect the Yellow wire to the battery wire.
• Connect the 4-pin Molex harness on the 24-pin connector, to the 4-pin Molex harness on the
• Connect the 4-pin harness with stripped leads, to the 4-pin Molex harness on the 52-pin
Note: The rear-view camera input is used to display the climate control status and
personalization menu. If the aftermarket radio does not have a screen with a rear-view
camera input, then there will be no visualization of the climate controls status and
personalization menu, which makes adjusting the climate control impossible. An externally
mounted screen could be substituted in this situation.
