CUTTING THE SEAT TUBE TO LENGTH
Your new bike requires its seat tube to be cut down to set it to your personal seat height. To have this
done it is preferable to refer to your LOOK approved retail outlet.
1.
Insert the seatpost into the frame and set the horizontal position of the saddle.
2.
Measure the seat height for the new bike, before cutting down, using the saddle.
3.
Calculate the cut length "L" as follows:
L = saddle height on new bike – personal saddle height
4.
Withdraw the seatpost.
5.
Apply a strip of adhesive tape centred on length "L" in order to provide protection while cutting.
6.
Fit the cutting jig at position "L" and tighten
the clamping screw to 3 Nm. (Fig. 13)
7.
Cut the tube by running a hacksaw (24 or 32
teeth/inch) through the sawing slit. Turn the
bike stand so as to saw vertically.
8.
Remove the jig, deburr the end of the tube
with fine glass paper. Check the end of the
tube is clean and paint-free.
ADJUSTING SEAT TUBE HEIGHT
You can adjust saddle height by adding
spacers. The E Post 2 is supplied with the
following spacers: 1 mm (qty.: 1) / 2 mm
(qty.: 2) / 5 mm (qty.: 1) / 10 mm (qty.: 3). The
maximum added height adjustment is 30 mm
(three 10 mm spacers stacked). To adjust
your saddle height:
1.
Release the E Post 2 and withdraw it
from the frame.
2.
Fit the rings onto the seatpost as shown
in Fig. 13.
