10. Keyhole locks may be inserted into calf and thigh shells (Figure 5)
if desired to ensure straps cannot accidentally be disengaged from
shells.
NOTE: Have patient wear brace for a few minutes to make sure straps
are at comfortable tension. Pressure reducing pads are included and
may be applied for additional comfort.
REMOVING BRACE
1. Press button on Dynamic Force Control System to release tension in
ratcheted- DFS strap (Figure 6).
2. Open both upper and lower Quick Fit Buckle
3. Remove Quick Fit Buckles from keyholes
4. Remove brace from leg
ONE-TIME STRAP LENGTH ADJUSTMENT (OPTIONAL):
1. Remove alligator clips (J) and trim straps. DFS Alligator clips should
be positioned nearby to buckles (Figure 7) away from popliteal
region.
2. Repeat for all straps.
TAMPER PROOF STRAP LENGTH SET-UP:
The brace now ships with straps folded externally onto themselves for
easy adjustment. If desired, the straps may be reversed and folded in an
internal termination for a tamper proof patient configuration:
1. Remove alligator clips.
2. Pull strap out of D-ring/buckle and thread through D-ring/buckle in a
reversed manner, from outside to inside (Figure 8) .
3. Use double sided hook provided to secure strap end (Figure 8).
4. Repeat for all straps.
RANGE OF MOTION ADJUSTMENT (ROM):
The device comes with a 0° extension stop installed. Additional
extension stops of 5°, 10°, 15° and 30° have been provided. A flexion
stops of 90° is also included.
NOTE: Optimal corrective forces are applied at full extension. If patient
requires an extension stop change, make sure to readjust tension in DFS
straps if more unloading is required.
TO CHANGE RANGE OF MOTION:
1. Peel condyle pad from hinge to expose screw.
2. Remove retaining screw.
3. Slide 0° stop out of hinge.
4. Insert desired extension stop.
5. Secure with retaining screw (DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN)
6. For adding flexion stop, follow steps 1, 4 & 5.

Unloader
One pain relief device is designed for minimum maintenance

and care. Follow these easy maintenance steps to keep brace in good
condition.
CLEANING
• Liners may be wiped down in place with alcohol for a quick cleaning.
• For more thorough cleaning, liners, straps and strap pads may be
removed.
• DO NOT MACHINE WASH.
• DO NOT PLACE IN DRYER
• Hand-wash using mild non-detergent soap.
• Rinse thoroughly.
