INSTALLATION
1. Place sections of exhaust hose over exhaust
Y-pipe. Apply soapy water to ease installation.
Place the four hose clamps loosely on each lower
exhaust hose.
2. Re-install any fittings removed from original risers
on new risers. Re-install in same position. Coat
threads with sealing compound.
Use plugs provided to seal all remaining holes in
new risers. Coat threads with sealing compound.
Torque:
1/4" NPT – 22 ft.lb. (29 Nm)
1/2" NPT – 30 ft.lb. (40 Nm)
3. Install the upper bellows, clamps, and elbow on
new riser.
4. Position gasket on manifold.
CAUTION! Do not reuse the old gasket; fail-
ure to use a new gasket may result in engine
damage or flooding of the boat. Be sure to
follow the instructions provided with the gas-
ket kit (PN 3863191) for correct torque speci-
fications on screws and for surface
preparation details when installing the gas-
ket.
