Making a Measurement

Turn the thermometer on with the ON/OFF button.
Bring the surface or material to be measured into contact with the
temperature sensor.
Wait until a steady value is displayed. The time required to obtain
an accurate measurement depends on the application and may
take up to 30 seconds.
W Hazardous temperatures maybe present at unit under test if H
(HOLD) is present on display.
You can press the HOLD button to store the measurement value.
H appears in the display when the thermometer is in Hold mode.
Before making a measurement, turn the HOLD function OFF.
Overload or underload conditions appear as OL or -OL on the
thermometer display.
For the most accurate measurement results, follow the guidelines
below:
When measuring liquid, paste, or solid material, the insertion
depth of the sensor should be approximately 30 mm (1.18 in).
For surface temperature measurement, there must be reasonable
heat contact between the sensor and the surface to be measured.
The surface and the sensor should be clean and the sensor must
be place vertically on the surface. The use of a thermal
conductivity paste is suggested.
Cleaning
Turn the thermometer OFF prior to cleaning.
Clean the thermometer using a damp cloth and household
detergent.
Never use acid detergents or solvents for cleaning.
Do not use the thermometer until it is completely dry.
