1. Safety instructions
The appliance must only be connected if the voltage
specified on the rating plate matches the mains voltage.
Never pull the plug out of the socket by the power
supply cable.
Never squeeze or buckle the power supply cable or pull
it over sharp edges.
Never use damaged extension cables or hoses.
A damaged power supply cable must only be replaced
with a special cable that is available from the manufac-
turer or its after-sales service.
Prior to maintenance work always switch off the appli-
ance and disconnect the power supply cable from
the mains.
Never leave the appliance unattended. Always
disconnect the power supply cable from the mains when
the appliance is not going to be used for extended
periods.
Never direct the hose or tube at people or animals.
Special care must be taken in the presence of children,
old or frail people.
Repairs must only be completed by an authorized
specialist, e.g. servicing agents, and only original spares
must be used for this purpose. Incompetently repaired
appliances are a hazard to the user!
Special care must be taken when cleaning staircases.
Ensure that the appliance is in a stable position.
The noise level can exceed 85 dB.
Switch off immediately in the event of leaking foam and
liquid. Empty container and folded filter.
The proper performance of the float valve must be
continuously checked. The valve must be clean and
function smoothly.
WARNING: Never use the appliance to clean-up
flammable or explosive solvents, objects soaked
with such solvents, explosive dusts, liquids such
as petrol, oil, alcohol, thinners, and objects
that are hotter than 60 °C, as this will cause a
serious explosion and fire hazard! The appliance
must not be used in the vicinity of flammable
substances.
Acids, acetone and solvents can corrode appliance parts.
The appliance must not be used to clean-up health-
endangering dusts.

Never use the appliance under the following circum-
stances:
– Visible damage (cracks/fractures)
– Defective power supply cable
– When an invisible defect is suspected (e.g. if the
appliance has been dropped)
The mains socket must be protected by a domestic fuse
of adequate current strength.
Protect the appliance from frost and do not store
outdoors.
The top section must only be cleaned with a dry or
slightly moist cloth.
Keep all packaging material, particularly plastic bags,
out of reach of children. Danger of suffocation!
No liability is accepted for damage resulting from impro-
per use of the appliance, or if it was not repaired by an
authorized specialist.
The appliance must only be used for the jobs described
in these Operating Instructions; do not use the appliance
for any other purpose!
2. Points to be observed prior to use
Please read the following carefully as it gives important
information for the use, safety, maintenance/care of the
appliance. Keep these operating instructions in a safe place
and, if necessary, pass them on to any subsequent owner.
The appliance complies with accepted rules of techno-
logy and current appliance safety laws.
The appliance conforms with the EMV guideline
89/336/EC.
