Removal of Existing Fuel Door
1. Open fuel door.
2. Remove the two Torx T30 head screws holding the fuel cup
housing in place. See Figure 1A.

3. Drill out existing rivets holding fuel door hinge in place.
See callout 1 Figure 2A.
** DO NOT ENLARGE THE HOLES IN THE BODY WHILE
DRILLING OUT THE EXISTING RIVETS. THESE
HOLES AID IN THE ALIGNMENT OF THE FUEL
FILLER DOOR TO THE BODY. **

4. Remove tether from existing fuel door hinge.

6. Remove the fuel door assembly by sliding the assembly towards
the rear of the vehicle.
Installation of New Fuel Door Assembly
1. Apply corrosion protection using GM Vehicle Care Super
Lube with PTFE to all areas with exposed bare metal. These
areas include both the exposed metal around the rivet head
DQG WKH VXUIDFH ZKHUH WKH IXHO ¿OOHU GRRU DWWDFKHV WR WKH ERG\
(on the back side of the metal).
2. Install the fuel door assembly by sliding the assembly towards
the front of the vehicle, making sure the holes in the fuel door
hinge align with the holes in the sheet metal. See Figure 3A.
3. Install new rivets. See Figure 3A.

4. Reinstall the two Torx T30 Screws that hold the fuel filler
cup housing in place. Tighten the screws to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
See Figure 1A.
