READ THIS FIRST BEFORE YOU START
NOTE: For the bracket to adhere best, the vehicle's front fascia
should be free of damage (e.g. dents, scratches, creases,
fractures, etc.).
1. For the bracket to properly adhere to the front fascia, your
vehicle must be exposed to a temperature range of 61ºF -
86ºF (16ºC - 31ºC) for a minimum of 12 hours prior to
installation.
2. The installation area where the bracket is to be applied
should be clean. Lubricants, skin oil, airborne dust, etc.,
can contaminate the paint and reduce the adhesion perfor-
mance of the tape to the vehicle. To increase the robustness
of the process, clean the front fascia with Scotch-Brite
High-Performance Cleaning Cloths or a 50/50 mixture of
isopropyl alcohol and water with a clean, non-abrasive cloth.
If a strong cleaner is required to remove any contaminates,
use 3M general purpose Adhesive Cleaner (Part number
08984). Then, thoroughly dry with a soft clean cloth.
3. Drill out the four drill dimple locations with a 5 mm (0.1968
inch) drill bit.

Procedure
1. Remove the tape liners from all adhesive dots. NOTE: It is
important that the correct technique be used when removing
the foam tape liner to minimize the potential of tearing the
liner or breaking a liner splice. The liner should be removed
at an angle less than 90 degrees to the direction of peel of
the liner. This means that the position of one's hand, while
removing the liner, must remain ahead of the point were the
liner is in contact with the Acrylic Foam Tape surface.
2. Orient the bracket to the front fascia as shown below.
Match fascia profile.
IMPORTANT: The adhesive dots will bond quickly to the paint.
In the event that the bracket should be mis-aligned after installa-
tion, do not attempt to remove the bracket as this will cause
paint damage. To avoid mis-alignment, do not drop the bracket
into place. Instead, first align and match the top edge of the
bracket to the profile of the fascia. Then, toggle the bracket into
place. Once in place, press firmly on the three adhesive dot
areas to ensure good adhesion.
