REMEDY
EQUIPMENT!
Check wiring. If 3–phase, swap any two fan wires at the 2OL. If
1–phase, replace fan.
Remove power and check 2RPS fan pressure switch for continuity
above 17 barg (247 psig) – replace if open.
Check trip set point. Reset overload.
Check for 115 volts at 2M contactor coil and 2RPS switch closed –
replace contactor if contacts are open.
Remove power, allow fan to cool (this may take 1–2 hours) and
check fan temperature switch (TK) for continuity – replace fan if
open
Discharge and inlet air connections have been reversed.
Adjust hot gas valve.
Drain valve is not working properly.
Defective compressor – replace.
Inlet temperature, and/or flow is too high. Confirm dryer size for
application.
Condenser coil is dirty – clean coil.
Fan is not operating properly.
Dryer is over charged, or has not been charged with refrigerant as a
liquid.
Air or non–condensibles in system – recover refrigerant, replace
filter drier, evacuate, & recharge.
Expansion device is blocked open.
Defective compressor valves – replace compressor.
Adjust thermal expansion valve(s).
Adjust hot gas valve.
Dryer is operating in an ambient environment of less than 2_C
(35_F).
Moisture in the system – recover refrigerant, replace filter drier,
evacuate, & recharge.
Restriction in liquid line, filter drier, or expansion device – remove
restriction or replace defective component
Check valve bulb is properly clamped in the correct position (3
o'clock or 9 o'clock, with bulb notch against pipe) and bulb insulated.
Check air distribution on condenser coil is reasonably even –
remove any obstructions.
Replace expansion valve.
Recover refrigerant, replace filter drier, evacuate, & recharge.
