5.3- DESCRIPTION OF THE WELDING FUNCTIONS
When the generator is switched on, all the signals will be displayed for about 2
seconds; then the displays (ref.21-22 page 9) will blink for 2 seconds, showing the
type of welding selected .
2 seconds after each regulation the panel prepares to show (display ref.20 page
9) and regulate the welding current A with the general encoder (ref.5 page 9).
DESCRIPTIONS OF THE REGULATIONS IN THE VARIOUS WELDING MODES
- ARC WELDING
1) Press the select mode button (ref.4 page 9) until the Electrode mode led (ref.4A page
9) lights up.
2) The letters arc will appear on the display (ref.21 page 9) for 2 seconds.
3) The weld enable led lights up (ref.2 page 9)
4) The encoder (ref.5 page 9) is used to regulate the welding current shown on the
display on the right A (ref.20 page 9).5) The display on the left V (ref.21 page 9)
indicates the generator output voltage.
5) The Arc-Force and the Hot-Start are already automatically regulated to have an
optimum weld.
6) If you want to operate with a remote control (CAD), refer to the chapter on
PREPARING THE REMOTE/PEDAL/TORCH UP-DOWN CONTROL on page 20.
- TIG 2 TIME WELDING
1) Press the select mode button (ref.4 page 9) until the Tig 2T mode led (ref.4B page 9)
lights up.
2) The letters tig 2t 2 will appear on the displays (ref.20-21 page 9) for 2 seconds.
3) Regulating the welding current - The encoder (ref.5 page 9) is used to regulate
the welding current shown on the display on the right A (ref.20 page 9)
4) Regulating the slope down - Pressing the Sd button (ref.14 page 9) selects the
time of the slope down. The right-hand display A (ref.20 page 9) will start to blink,
indicating the value that can be selected with the encoder (ref.5 page 9) from 0.1 to 10
seconds.
To view the set value at any time, briefly press the Sd button.
5) Regulating the post-gas time - Pressing the PG button (ref.17 page 9) selects the
post-gas time. The right-hand display A (re.20 page 9) will start to blink, indicating the
value that can be selected with the encoder (ref.5 page 9) from 0.5s to 30s.
To view the set value at any time, briefly press the PG button.
6) Activating and regulating DC pulse mode – A first brief press
of the PULSE MODE button (ref.19 page 9) selects pulse mode .
The ON led (ref.19A page 9) will start to blink. The displays will start to blink.
6a) Pulse Frequency Regulation – Turning the regulating encoder F (ref.18 page 9)
varies the frequency value from 0.4Hz to 300Hz; the right-hand display A (F) (ref.20
page 9) indicates the value selected.
6b) Pulse Duty-cycle Regulation – Turning the regulating encoder D (ref.16 page 9)
varies the Duty-cycle value from 10% to 90%; the left-hand display V (D) (ref.21 page 9)
indicates the value selected.
To view the set parameters at any time, briefly press the PULSE MODE button (ref.19
page 9) or slightly shift one of the encoders F or D
