Operating instructions SATA filter 400
4. Mounting the unit
By using the fastening set Order No. 92569 the filter unit must be firmly mounted in the vertical
position by means of the fixing angle and included screws in a suitable place. Ensure that the unit is
mounted in a manner to protect against outside mechanical influence such as bumping or shaking.
The filter may also be mounted vertically and firmly to compressed air lines without mounting to the
wall (mount air lines accordingly).
Remove plastic plug at the air inlet (5) and screw in fitting. Ensure tight fit and tension free assembly.
For maintenance, it is recommended to include shut-off valve with removable coupling at the air inlet
(a coupling may also be put at the air outlet).
Connect one end of the condensate drain hose (10) on the brass connection piece and the other end
into an appropriate condensate storage container. Make sure that the container will not tip and the
hose will not jump out when condensate is blown.
Attention! Condensate is hazardous waste.
5. Combination filter assembly
1.
SATA filter 444 and SATA filter 484: Manifold with 2 ball taps may be connected
to the filter unit by means of the existing detachable joint fitting.
2.
SATA filter 494: Please remove the 3rd filter stage (activated charcoal) from the pre-assembled filter
unit and install the provided manifold (96743) between the 2nd and the 3rd filter stage. The outlet
rail (59295) has to be installed after the 3rd filter stage (activated charcoal).
3.
Equipping an already existing filter unit of the 400 series with an activated charcoal filter SATA filter
464 requires the following parts:
1 x filter unit 464 (Art. No. 141473)
The available versions and drawings can be found on the fold-out page at the beginning of
the brochure.
6. Pressure regulation valve
The required working pressure can be adjusted at
the regulating valve (1 to 3). If air escapes at the
vent hole at the rear of the fixing nut (2) or the valve
does not function properly, the pressure regu-
lation valve must be disassembled, cleaned and
inspected. If necessary, the diaphragm (Art. No.
2949) and the pressure regulation valve rod (Art.
No. 84764) have to be replaced or regreased with
SATA high performance grease for spray guns (Art.
No. 48173 or 10009 (unit of 6 tubes)
