the cause. Vibration is generally a warning of
trouble.
• Stop the engine (motor) whenever you leave
the operating position, before unclogging the
collector/impeller housing or discharge chute,
and when making any repairs, adjustments or
inspections.
• Do not operate the machine indoors.
• Exercise extreme caution when operating on
slopes.
• Never operate the machine without proper
guards and other safety protective devices in
place and working.
• Never direct the discharge toward people or
areas where property damage can occur. Keep
children and others away.
• Do not overload the machine capacity by
attempting to clear snow at too fast a rate.
• Never operate the machine at high transport
speeds on slippery surfaces. Look behind and
use care when operating in reverse.
• Disengage the battery when the machine is
transported or not in use.
• Use
only
attachments
approved by the manufacturer of the machine
(such as wheel weights, counterweights or
cabs).
• Never operate the machine without good
visibility or light. Always be sure of your footing,
and keep a firm hold on the handles. Walk; never
run.
• Never touch hot parts of the machine.
3.4 CLEARING A CLOGGED
DISCHARGE CHUTE
a) Hand contact with the rotating impeller inside
the discharge chute is the most common cause of
injury associated with snow throwers. Never use
your hand to clean out the discharge chute.
b) To clear the chute:
1) SHUT THE MACHINE OFF!
2) Wait 10 s to be sure the impeller blades have
stopped rotating.
3) Always use a clean-out tool, not your hands.

3.5 MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

• Check shear bolts and other bolts at frequent
intervals for proper tightness to be sure the
equipment is in safe working condition.
• To reduce fire risks, do not leave containers with
debris inside a room.
• Always refer to instruction handbook for
important details if the snow thrower is to be
stored for an extended period.
• Maintain or replace safety labels, as necessary.

• Run the machine a few minutes after throwing
snow to prevent freeze-up of the collector/
impeller.
• When cleaning, repairing or inspecting the snow
thrower, stop the machine and make certain the
collector/impeller and all moving parts have
stopped. Disconnect the battery to prevent
someone from accidentally starting the engine.
3.6 BATTERY / BATTERY CHARGER
IMPORTANT The following safety instructions
are in addition to the safety requirements provided
in the specific battery and battery charger manual
delivered with this machine.
• This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or
lack of experience and knowledge, unless they
have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
• Only use battery chargers recommended by
the manufacturer to recharge batteries. An
inadequate battery charger may cause electric
shock, overheating or corrosive liquid to leak
from the battery
• Use only batteries specifically designed for
your power tool. The use of other batteries may
cause injuries and fire risks.
• Make sure that the machine is switched off
before inserting the battery. Inserting a battery
in a machine which is switched on can cause
a fire.
• Always keep the surface of the charger free from
dust and dirt.
• Keep all unused batteries at a distance from
paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other
small metal objects as contact with the same
can cause short circuits. Short circuits between
battery contacts can lead to explosion or fires.
• Never
discharge
and recharge occasionally if not used for a
prolonged period.
• Never use the battery charger in environments in
the presence of vapours, flammable substances
or on easily flammable surfaces such as paper,
fabric, etc. The battery charger heats up during
recharging and may cause a fire.
• When transporting accumulators, make sure
the contacts never come into contact with
each other and never use metal containers to
transport them.

3.7 ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Safeguarding the environment must be a relevant
and priority aspect of machine use, of benefit to
the community and the environment we live in.
