Fitting /
Consult the recommendations for the installation and
the instructions on how to build the motor in given in
the bow thrusters manual.
The motor is not fitted to the intermediate flange
directly during the final fitting, but the bottom part of
the motor housing must be fitted first following the
instructions given below.
Position the bottom half
of the housing on the
intermediate flange.
Position the packing
supplied on the bottom
of the bottom half of
the housing.
Grease
the
screw
thread of the bolts with
outboard gear grease
and position the elec-
tric motor on the inter-
mediate flange.
Check that the pro-
peller can be rotated
easily by hand and that
the electric motor shaft
turns as this is done.
Check that the shaft
of the tail piece and
the shaft of the elec-
tric motor do not touch
each other.

Electrical installation
Make sure that no other electrical parts become
loose while connecting the power cables.
Check all electrical connections after 14 days.
Electrical parts (for example nuts and bolts) can
become loose as a result of temperature variations.
Check that the voltage as given on the motor type plate is the
same as that of the on-board voltage. Position the battery or
batteries as close as possible to the bow thruster. This allows
the main power cables to be short so that there will be little
voltage loss.
Connect
the
cables
already fitted in the
housing correctly plus
(+) and minus (-) to the
motor.
NB!
Prevent the nut 1 and
the bolt from turning
while connecting the
cables. To do this hold
nut 1 with an open-end
spanner and do not
turn this spanner while
tightening up nut 2.
The turning moment for
bolt 2 is maximum 11
Nm.
Connect the main
power cables.
Sparks from the switch and the fuse can also cause a
combustible mixture to ignite!
Therefore, position these in a closed housing (switch
box).
