Notes on Handling the Interface Between the Devices (for
Windows Users)
If installation of the printer driver does not proceed as explained in this Quick Start Guide, there may be a
problem of interface between the computer and the printer.
Try reinstalling the printer driver.
Reinstalling

If you cannot proceed beyond the Printer Connection
screen;
When connecting with a USB cable

Click Cancel on the Printer Connection
screen.

Click Start Over on the Installation Failure
screen.

Click Back on the Easy Install screen.

Click Exit on the Welcome screen, then
remove the CD-ROM.

Turn the printer off.

Restart the computer.

Reinstall the printer driver (see page 7).
When connecting through infrared
communication

Click Cancel on the Printer Connection
screen.

Select a port.
• Windows XP/Windows 2000: IR
• Windows Me/Windows 98: LPT3
A port name other than LPT3: may be displayed
depending on the type of your computer.
