Changing the port name
Problem
Changing the port name
Troubles in the network setup of the Card Slot
Problem
Unable to determine whether the Card
Slot is mounted
The available drive letter cannot be
selected on the Network Setup of the
Card Slot dialog box
Possible Cause and Measures
To change the port name, click Set Port Name on the Setup Results dialog
box.
The Set Port Name dialog box is displayed, where you specify the port name.
By changing the port name, you can change the name of the machine. When
you set up an additional computer to use the machine whose port name you
changed, the machine is displayed with the changed port name.
When two or more computers are set up, the changed name is displayed. When
multiple computers or printers are present, this can be used to change the name
to one that is easy to remember.
Port Name
Port names should consist of alphanumeric characters and be no longer than 24
characters (12 characters in Windows Me or Windows 98), excluding the prefix.
The port name includes the fixed prefix "CNBJNP_", which you do not need to
enter.
Possible Cause and Measures
Open My Computer, and find the canon_memory on
'MP600R(xxxxxxxxxxxx)' icon with the mapped drive letter.
* xxxxxxxxxxxx are 12 alphanumeric characters.
* The icon name may vary depending on the language version of Windows
you are using.
The CANON_MEMORY icon appears on the desktop.
On this dialog box, only D to Z can be selected as the network drive for the
Card Slot.
The network setup of the Card Slot may have already succeeded, and the
computer merely fails to access the Card Slot for other reasons. Refer to
"Cannot access the Card Slot after the network setup of the Card Slot is
complete" in the Network Guide on-screen manual.
