2. HANDLING

The pumps are supplied suitably packaged to pre-
vent damage in transit. Before unpacking, check
that the packaging has not been damaged or de-
formed,
Lift and handle the product with care and with
the right tools.

3. INSTALLATION

3.1. Fixing

The pump can rest on the floor or be suspended
from a cable or the like.
The pump must never be supported by the
electric cable or the discharge line (fig.2).
On the automatic version, with level float (version
A), if so wished the level of water for pump starting
and stopping can be set by sliding the float cable by
its hook.
Check that the level float can move freely (Fig.2).
The maximum depth of immersion is 7 m.

3.2. Discharge pipe assembly

The pumps are supplied ready to be connected a 1
1/4" line. However, if the geometric height is
considerable and the paths are long and winding,
we recommend using lines with a larger diameter,
to avoid head loss due to friction as much as
possible
and
to
obtain
performance possible.
Pipework must be supported and their weight must
not rest on the pump.
It is advisable to fit a check valve to prevent the
pipes remaining empty. This check valve must
allow solids of up to at least 10 mm to pass.
Ensure that the tube is not bent and that it is
correctly fitted onto the outlet piece because, in
addition to preventing the desired flow, proper
pump operation will be hindered.

3.3. Electrical connection

The electrical installation must have a multi-
pole isolator with minimum 3mm contact
openings, The protection of the system will
be
based
on
(Δfn = 30mA).
The connection and its dimensioning must be per-
formed by a qualified installer according to the
needs of the facility and following the regulations in
force in each country.
The motor has built-in thermal protection
which disconnects the power supply in the
event of overload.

3.4. Pre-start checks

Ensure the voltage and frequency of the
supply corresponds to the values indicated
on the electrical data label.
Ensure that the pump is submerged as shown in
Fig.2.
THIS PUMP MUST NEVER BE DRY RUN.

4. STARTING

Ensure all valves in the pipework are open.
Connect the electrical panel plug into a socket. If
there is an appropriate level of water, the motor will
immediately start up.
Check that the absorbed current is the same as
marked on the name plate.
If the motor does not start or no water flows at the
end of the line, try to find the anomaly using the
troubleshooting guide in point 8.
Contact with the rotating turbine or blade
can cause serious injury.

5. MAINTENANCE

Under normal conditions these pumps require no
special or planned maintenance.
During frosty periods, remember to drain the
line.
Clean the pump by having it pump clean
water when it is to be withdrawn in order to
prevent deposition of sand or other materials.
If the pump is not to be operated for a long
period it is recommended to remove it from
the installation, drain down and store in a dry,
well ventilated place.
ATTENTION: In the event of faults or
damage occurring to the pump, repairs or
electric cable replacement should only be
carried out by an authorised service agent.

When the pump is eventually disposed of, please
note that it contains no toxic or polluting material.
All main components are material identified to allow
selective disposal.
