läuft der Titel 16 % schneller bzw. langsamer als
mit Standardgeschwindigkeit, und die LED der
Taste PITCH (4) blinkt.
Hinweis: Die Taste PITCH BEND + ist bei einer mit
dem Regler PITCH CONTROL (16) eingestellten
Geschwindigkeit von +16 % unwirksam und die
Taste - bei einer Geschwindigkeit von -16 %.

5 Faderstart

Der CD-Spieler läßt sich über ein Mischpult mit Kon-
taktsteuerung fernbedienen. Mit dem Öffnen des
entsprechenden Mischpult-Faders wird ein Schalter
im Mischpult geschlossen, der den CD-Spieler star-
tet. Beim Schließen des Faders öffnet der Schalter
und schaltet dadurch den CD-Spieler auf Pause. Im
Mischpult dürfen die Kontakte dieses Schalters mit
Masse verbunden sein, jedoch nicht mit einer Span-
nung!
Damit es nicht zu einer Fehlfunktion kommen
kann, zuerst den CD-Spieler und das Mischpult aus-
schalten. Die entsprechende Faderstartbuchse am
Mischpult über ein Verbindungskabel (siehe Abb. 5)
an die Buchse START/PAUSE (19) anschließen.

3) With buttons PITCH BEND synchronize the beat
per minute of both music pieces: as long as but-
ton + or - is kept pressed, the playing speed of
the title is 16 % quicker or slower than the stan-
dard speed, and the LED of button PITCH (4)
blinks.
Note: Button PITCH BEND + is ineffective at a
speed of +16 % adjusted with control PITCH CON-
TROL (16) and button PITCH BEND - is ineffective
at a speed of -16%.
5 Fader Start
The CD player can be remote-controlled via a mixer
with contact control. With opening the correspond-
ing mixer fader, a switch in the mixer is closed which
starts the CD player. With closing the fader the
switch opens and thus switches the CD player to
pause. In the mixer the contacts of this switch can
be connected with ground but not with a voltage!
To avoid a malfunction, at first switch off the CD
player and the mixer. Connect the corresponding
fader start jack at the mixer via a connection cable
(see fig. 5) to jack START/PAUSE (19).

Über die Mischpult-Monitorfunktion kann bei ge-
schlossenem Fader für den CD-Spieler ein Titel vor-
gehört werden:
1) Mit den Tasten
wünschten Titel springen. Wird die Titelnummer
mit den Zifferntasten (9) eingetippt, anschließend
sofort mit der Taste
sonst startet der Titel.
2) Die Taste CUE (13) gedrückt halten. Der Titel
spielt so lange, wie die Taste gedrückt wird.
3) Nach dem Loslassen der Taste CUE springt das
Gerät auf den Titelanfang zurück. Zum Starten
des Titels den Fader aufziehen.
6 Pflege des Gerätes
Das Gerät vor Staub, Vibrationen, direktem Sonnen-
licht, Feuchtigkeit und Hitze schützen (zulässiger
Einsatztemperaturbereich 0–40 °C). Für die Reini-
gung nur ein weiches, trockenes Tuch verwenden,
auf keinen Fall Wasser oder Chemikalien.
Hinweis zu Tonaussetzern und Lesefehlern
Zigarettenrauch dringt leicht durch alle Öffnungen
des Gerätes und setzt sich auch auf der Optik des
Laser-Abtastsystems ab. Dieser Belag kann zu Lese-
fehlern und Tonaussetzern führen. Da sich Zigaret-
tenrauch nicht immer vermeiden läßt (z. B. in der
Discothek), muß das Gerät dann in einer Fachwerk-
statt gereinigt werden. Diese Reinigung ist kosten-

6 Maintenance of the Unit

Protect the unit against dust, vibrations, direct sun
radiation, humidity, and heat (admissible ambient
temperature range 0 – 40 °C). For cleaning only use
a dry, soft cloth. Do not use water or chemicals.
Note on sound interruptions and reading errors
Cigarette smoke easily penetrates through all open-
ings of the unit and settles on the optic of the laser
system. This deposit may cause reading errors and
sound interruptions. As cigarette smoke cannot
always be avoided (e .g. in the discothèque), the unit
must in this case be cleaned by authorized person-
