INFORMATION
The 17M10/11; 17M20/21 and 17M30/31 Knee Joints can also be used in
conjunction with the Ottobock Modular System Ankle Joints (e.g. 17B63).
For this purpose special adapters are at your disposal (17M60/61) allow-
ing the connection of knee joints with the modular system.
1 Application
The 17M10/11; 17M20/21 and 17M30/31 Knee Joints are to be used ex-
clusively for the orthotic fitting of the lower extremities.
2 Indication
Partial paralysis or complete paralysis of leg muscles. Indication must be
diagnosed by a physician.
3 Processing
INFORMATION
Please note that the Ottobock Joint Bar Systems, due to different align-
ment parameters such as the created forefoot load or flexion, are sub-
jected to increased load.
Please observe the following processing instructions:
3.1 Bending the joint bars
The bending radius should be at least 20mm.
While bending, ensure that no bending load is applied on joint heads so as
to prevent the knee joints from premature wear or damage.
3.2 Heating the joint bars
All joint bars are heat treated. The aluminum joint bars should not exposed
to temperatures exceeding 150 °C (318 °F), the steel joint bars should not
be exposed to temperatures exceeding 300 °C (572 °F).

3.3 Drill holes

It is permitted to drill holes into the joint bars up to dia. 5mm and the hole
must be positioned centrally of the joint bar. Never repair or fill the drill holes.
