Zero Adjustment Requirements
Zero adjustments should only be attempted after installation when using
gauge pressure devices. An accurate electrical measuring instrument
should be used to measure voltage or current during the zero adjustment
procedure. Digital display indicators should not be used for zero
adjustments to prevent errors in these devices from affecting the accuracy
of the pressure measurement.
It should be noted that adjusting the absolute pressure measurement zero
requires this sensor be exposed to a vacuum source. Normally this can
only be done in a controlled calibration facility, which would require the
device be removed from the process piping for zero adjustment. A vacuum
of less than 0.1 Torr should be used to zero the device.
Zero Adjustment Access
Access to the zero adjustment trimmer pot is available through the small
port on top of the transmitter. Turn the zero adjustment trimmer pot by
using a small screwdriver. Make small adjustments to the trimmer and
check the output results on the electrical measuring instrument. Keep
adjusting the trimmer in small increments until the desired output signal is
reached. To reseal the small port, use the rubber plug included with the
device.
The Brooks SFP CA pressure transmitter is designed to measure the
pressure of corrosive and hazardous chemicals, including strong acids and
bases. The perfluoralkoxy (PFA) plastic material in contact with these
chemicals is highly resistant to attack.
It is the purchaser's responsibility to determine if PFA is compatible with
the fluids in contact with the pressure sensor. For general guidance the
following table lists general classes of chemicals that are somewhat
