10. MAINTENANCE

10.1 General

The boiler does not require complex maintenance. It is advisable, however, to have it inspected and serviced on a regular basis.
Servicing and cleaning of the boiler must be carried out a minimum of once a year by a qualified professional.

10.2 Maintenance message

By displaying the
symbol, this function warns the user that the boiler requires maintenance. On delivery this function is
disabled. To enable the notification on the display proceed as follows:
• access the parameter setting section as described in chapter 9.1 "Parameter list";
• enable the AP010 parameter and set to "Custom notification";
• set the AP011 parameter, indicating the number of hours of life of the boiler (from the moment when the boiler is electrically
powered, irrespective of the times the burner comes on or goes off).
In alternative, it is possible to set the number of hours during which the burner stays on:
• set the number of hours using the AP09 parameter.

10.3 Standard inspection and maintenance operations

Before commencing any maintenance operations, make sure the boiler is disconnected from the power supply. After servicing,
reset the original operating parameters of the boiler if they were changed.
If the boiler was operating, wait for the combustion chamber and pipes to cool down.
Do not clean the boiler with abrasive, aggressive and/or easily flammable substances (such as petrol, acetone, etc.).
To optimise boiler efficiency, carry out the following annual controls:
• Check the appearance and airtightness of the gaskets of the gas and combustion circuits. Replace any worn seals with new
original spares;
• Check the state and correct position of the ignition and flame-sensing electrode;
• Check the state of the burner and make sure it is firmly fixed;
• Check for any impurities inside the combustion chamber. For this purpose, use a vacuum cleaner or specific cleaning kit, which
is available as an accessory;
• Check the pressure of the heating system;
• Check the pressure of the expansion vessel;
• Check the fan works correctly;
• Make sure the flue and air ducts are unobstructed;
• Check for any impurities inside the siphon;
• Check the magnesium anode, where present, for boilers fitted with storage boilers.
10.3.1 Checking the water pressure
The water pressure in the heating circuit must be between 1.0 and 1.5 bar for the boiler to run efficiently. Adjust the water pressure
if necessary, as described in section 6.7.
10.3.2 Checking the expansion vessel
Check the expansion vessel and replace it if necessary. Check the preload pressure on an annual basis and set it at 1 bar if
necessary.
10.3.3 Checking emissions of flue gases and the air intake system
Check the airtightness of the combustion fume evacuation connection and the comburent air intake system.
10.3.4 Checking combustion
Measure the O
/ CO
content and temperature of the exhaust fumes at the dedicated measurement point. To do this, proceed as

follows (see section 7.4.1):
• Heat the water in the boiler up to a temperature of about 70 °C.
• Undo the cap on the fume sampling point (adaptor for flue system).
• Measure the O
/ CO
content in the fumes using the measuring device. Compare the result with the control value.

10.3.5 Checking the automatic vent
Verify the operation of the deaeration pump valve (refer to chapter 4.3 No. 10). Replace the valve in case of leakage.
