■
Place saw chain (05/2) into groove (05/4)
of the chain bar and guide completely
around the chain bar.
4. Place the chain bar together with the fitted
saw chain into the open housing:
■
Place saw chain (06/1) around drive
sprocket (06/2).
■
Align chain bar (06/3) in such a way that
guide pin (06/4) engages in slot (06/5) of
the chain bar.
■
Align chain bar (06/3) so that chain ten-
sioning pin (06/6) engages in one of the
two chain tensioning holes (06/7).
■
Align saw chain (06/1) so that it is in the
groove of chain bar (06/3) and around
drive sprocket (06/2).
5. Fit chain sprocket cover (03/2) and tighten
(03/b) with fastening nut (03/1).
6. Tension the saw chain (see chapter 4.2 "Ten-
sioning and slackening the saw chain (07)",
page 20).
4.2
Tensioning and slackening the saw
chain (07)
1. Slightly loosen the fastening nut of the cover.
2. Tension the saw chain; use the combination
spanner:
■
Tensioning the saw chain: Turn chain
tensioning screw (07/1) in clockwise di-
rection (07/a).
■
Slackening the saw chain: Turn chain
tensioning screw (07/1) in anti-clockwise
direction (07/b).
3. Check the chain tension (see chapter 5.3
"Checking the chain tension", page 21). Re-
peat the previous step, if necessary.
4.3
Filling saw chain oil (08)
There is no saw chain oil in the appliance on
delivery!
IMPORTANT! Danger of damage to the ap-
pliance. Use of the appliance without saw chain
oil leads to damage of the saw chain and the
guide rail.
■
Never operate the appliance without saw
chain oil.
■
Before starting work, fill the saw chain oil in
the oil tank and check the oil level during the
work.
■
At least before starting work each time, check
that the chain lubrication is working.
20
Service life and cutting performance of the saw
chain are greatly dependent on optimum lubrica-
tion. The saw chain is automatically wetted with
oil during operation.
IMPORTANT! Danger of damage to the ap-
pliance. Due to the metallic abrasion it contains,
the use of used oil for lubricating the chain would
lead to premature wear of the guide rail and saw
chain. Also, the warranty of the manufacturer will
become void.
■
Never use used oil, only biologically degrad-
able saw chain oil.
IMPORTANT! Danger of environmental dam-
age. The use of mineral oil for the chain lubrica-
tion leads to serious environmental damage.
■
Never use mineral oil, but only biologically
degradable saw chain oil.
Always check the oil level before starting work
and top up the saw chain oil tank, if necessary:
1. Check the oil level at sight glass (08/1) of the
oil tank. Oil must always be visible. The mini-
mum and maximum oil level must not be ex-
ceeded.
2. Place and hold the pole-mounted pruner hori-
zontal on a firm surface.
3. Clean the appliance around the oil tank cap
(08/2).
4. Unscrew oil tank cap (08/2).
5. Fill the oil tank with biodegradable saw chain
oil. Observe the oil level in sight glass (08/1)
of the oil tank while filling. Do not allow it to
overflow!
■
Use a funnel for easier filling.
■
Do not allow any dirt to get into the oil
tank.
6. Screw on oil tank cap (08/2) again securely.
4.4
Fitting the attachment to the basic
appliance
See "Multitool MT 130 – basic appliance" operat-
ing instructions.
5 OPERATION
CAUTION! Danger of burns. The gearbox
housing becomes hot during operation.
■
Do not touch the gearbox housing.
NOTE Use the single carrying belt for this at-
tachment.
