1. Prepare the coffee machine (see the "Handling and Operation" chapter).
We recommend always making at least 4 cups of coffee as the brewing time when making
just 2 cups, for example, is very short for making coffee and this can have an adverse effect
on how the coffee tastes.
2. Flip the operating switch (6) to the appropriate position to start the brewing process:
(GLAS) (glass): with keep-warm function, for use with the glass jug.

– Position
(THERMO) (thermal): without keep-warm function, for use with the thermal jug.
Hot water is poured over the coffee powder to brew it.
Please Note! As the design of the device means that the hot water lines run under the
hotplate (5), the thermal jug gets hot during the brewing process despite the keep-warm
function being switched off. This is normal and does not represent a defect.
If the THERMO (thermal) brewing programme has been selected, the coffee machine switches
off automatically once all the water from the water tank (3) has run through. With the GLAS
(glass) brewing programme, the hotplate remains switched on for approx. 40 minutes after the
brewing process (see the "Handling and Operation" chapter – "Keep-Warm Function").
The jug (7) can now be removed.
Please Note! After the brewing process, you must manually move the operating switch back
to the O position! Even if you want to prepare another jug of coffee, you must fi rst move the
operating switch to the O position and then back to the
To end the brewing process prematurely, fl ip the operating switch to the O position.
Cleaning and Care
PLEASE NOTE!
•
Do not use any toxic, corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents or scouring sponges to clean
the device. These may damage the surfaces.
1. Empty the permanent fi lter (12) or dispose of the fi lter paper and if necessary empty the
jug (7).
2. Clean the permanent fi lter, the fi lter insert (11) and the jug after every use with detergent and
warm water, or in the dishwasher.
Please Note! The thermal jug must not be cleaned in the dishwasher!
3. Wipe down the inside and outside of the housing with a damp cloth. If necessary, use a little
detergent to remove more intense soiling.
4. Check the connecting cable regularly for any damage.
