A2 INSTRUCTIONS FOR PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
Warning! Before carrying out any intervention on the filter other than cleaning operation,
place the filter in by-pass position.
Warning! If maintenance requires disassembly of the equipment, parts which come in
contact with drinking water must be handled with care from hygienic point to avoid
contamination of the hydraulic system. Use suitable disposable gloves. Any tools used must
be cleaned and disinfected before use
A2.1 Periodic maintenance
A.2.1.1 Bravo and BravoDUE
Every 3-4 days or when it is necessary, open the drain valve long enough to remove the dirt
accumulated in the filter. This allows to clean the filtering cartridge. It is possible to repeat several
times. Monthly or when signs of clogging are evident it is necessary to make a cartridge cleaning
following the procedure described below:
1)
Close the shut off valves upstream and downstream of the filter and possibly activate the by-
pass circuit.
2)
Open the bottom valve in order to drain water from the bowl.
3)
Open the bowl by means of the plastic key supplied
4)
Draw the cartridge out from the o-ring housing, remove the o-ring sealing and perform
internal and external cleaning of the cartridge with the aid of the hand brush supplied and hot water.
Thoroughly clean the sealing using a peace of blotting paper or a rag thoroughly rinsed with hot
water, paying attention not to damage the o-ring sealing. Thoroughly clean with a rag or blotting
paper also the o- ring sealing housing removing possible remaining.
5)
Carefully clean the inside of the bowl and head with a cloth or blotting paper and hot water
paying particular attention to removing any dirt accumulated on the threads..
Attention during assembling: the filter cartridge has two rings at the ends; the tighter ring must be
inserted into the brass head.
6)
Reassemble the filter by inserting the filtering cartridge from the narrowest extremity into the
filter's brass head and tighten the bowl manually. Make sure that the gasket of the lower part of the
cartridge is matching with the bowl itself; this operation is done by tightening the bowl with the key,
without forcing it.
A2.1.2 BravoCALOR
Every 3-4 days or when it is necessary, open the drain valve long enough to remove the dirt
accumulated in the filter. It is possible to repeat several times.
Monthly or when signs of clogging are evident it is necessary to make a cartridge cleaning. To
perform the cleaning of the cartridge disassemble the bowl made in brass, remove the cartridge in
stainless steel and start the cleaning operations with plenty of hot water. In case you need, use a
disposable paper or a clean sponge.
A2.2 No-use period
For periods shorter than 30 days, perform the filter cleaning operation repeatedly (4-5 times). For
non-use periods longer than 30 days, you must proceed to filter sanitization. With "non-use" it is
meant that the hydraulic system remains still without any water being drawn from the taps (e.g.
holiday period). If the plumbing system is subject to a cleaning and sanitizing intervention, PuliFIL
shall also be included in the intervention plan.
The sanitizing intervention is part of the extraordinary maintenance interventions that have
to be carried out exclusively by qualified personnel. In case of need, kindly contact an
Acqua Brevetti Technical Service Centers (TSC).
