ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION MANUAL

B1 INSTALLATION

B1.1 Before installation
This guidelines ensure your safety. Please read them completely and carefully before installation
and keep them in a safe place.
Warning! Before the equipment installation please verify that the water supplied to the
equipment fulfils the requirements of European drinking water directives (Directive
98/83/CE).
Warning! The Manufacturer declines all liability for damages to property or persons resulting
from the incorrect installation of the filter and/or the installation of the filter in a system not
complying with the laws in force.
Filters are not equipped, as standard version, with anti-flooding devices or devices designed to
check, control and alarm in the event of uncontrolled water leaks. If necessary, provide a suitable
anti-flooding device separately.
To avoid external contamination, always keep the filter in its original closed box and remove it only
immediately before the installation. During transport and storage, the equipment must not be
subjected to temperatures below 5 ° C and above 40 ° C.
In older buildings, check if the metal water pipe is used for grounding purposes for the electrical
system (the presence of a bridge connection on the water meter is a clear sign of this
circumstance). Check for other grounding before opening the pipe.
B1.2 Site installation requirements
The installation of the filter is a significant modification to the drinking water plumbing system, then it
must be carried out in a workmanlike manner by a qualified technician, in compliance with local
laws, regulations, and standards.
Filters must be installed in a hygienically suitable, dry, clean place, indoors, away from: frost, direct
exposure to sunlight, humidity and atmospheric agents (rain, snow, hail).
The plumbing system created for the installation of equipment connected to the water supply
network must be equipped with a system capable of ensuring the non-return in the network of the
treated water, as well as with a manual or automatic by-pass valve system that allows the delivery
of untreated water, interrupting the supply of the treated one.
Do not install filters in wells, near drains, in foul-smelling places. Do not install it where there may be
chemical vapors, gases or fumes of any kind. Avoid installation in confined spaces that do not allow
an easy performance of the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance operations. Do not install the
filter downstream of boilers or in applications that involve the passage of water at temperatures
above 30° C (BRAVO and BRAVODUE).
The permissible limit values of the environmental parameters for the installation are as follows:
Minimum/maximum ambient temperature (°C): 5 – 40.
Warning! Make sure that plumbing system be hygienically safe and does not present risks
of bacterial growth (for example dead branches, sources of bacterial proliferation...).
This equipment must not be used to treat water having microbiological parameters not in
compliance with drinking standards.
Prevent solvents, oils, greases, acidic or caustic substances and detergents to come into contact
with the external plastic and brass parts of the equipment. In case of very strong bumps during
transport or assembly, do not install the equipment and replace it even if there are no patent
damages to the plastic parts.
