After use
WARNING
Danger of oxygen deficiency and CO
► Do not switch the respiratory protective device off while still wearing the
hood.
1. Removing the hood:
a. Hold the donning/doffing loops between your fingers.
b. Pull the hood over your chin and then over your head.
2. If necessary, clean the hood and disinfect it (see "Cleaning and disinfection",
page 12).

5.1
Cleaning and disinfection
CAUTION
Possible damage of components!
► Only apply the procedures described and use the cleaning agents and
disinfectants specified when cleaning and disinfecting. Any other agents and
processes, dosages and contact times may damage components.
CAUTION
Risk of damage to health!
► Undiluted agents can damage your health if they come in direct contact with
your eyes or skin. When working with these agents, wear goggles and
protective gloves.

Procedure for standard hood:
1. Prepare a cleaning solution of water and a cleaning agent.
2. Clean the hood with the cleaning solution and rinse with clean water.
3. Wipe the hood dry or let it dry naturally. Protect it from direct sunlight.
Procedure for premium hood:
1. Prepare a cleaning solution of water and a cleaning agent.
2. Clean all parts with the cleaning solution and a soft cloth.
3. Thoroughly rinse all parts under running water.
4. Prepare a disinfection bath with water and a disinfectant.
5. Place all parts that need to be disinfected in the disinfection bath.
6. Thoroughly rinse all parts under running water.
7. Allow all parts to dry naturally or in a drying chamber (temperature: max.
60 °C). Protect it from direct sunlight.
5.2
Maintenance work
5.2.1
Replacing the sweatband

1. Remove the old sweatband from the support ring.
2. Attach the new sweatband to the hook on the support ring.
5.2.2
Replacing the protective foil

1. If present, remove any old protective foil.
2. If required, wipe the visor with a damp cloth and dry it with a soft cloth.
3. Remove the protective paper from the adhesive strip on the new protective
foil (Figure D-1).
4. Depending on the type of hood, align the notches on the protective foil (for
standard hood) or the top edge of the protective foil (for premium hood) with
the top edge of the visor.
5. Stick the new protective foil onto the visor.
6. Pull the transport foil off the protective foil (Figure D-2).
