The device is an electronic gas management system with a closed loop gas system. The shielding gas flow
during the welding process is optimized in terms of gas consumption and process stability, and is regulated
dependent on the welding current. A measurement shunt (F) reads the present welding current, and the
EWR 2/EWR 2 Net (B) regulates the gas flow rate via a characteristic curve that has been set as required.
This allows regulation of the gas pre-flow and post-flow periods and gas savings at the start of the process,
during welding pauses, and at the end of the process. This device consists of a housing with display and
arrow buttons, as well as a status LED. It also has a proportional valve and pressure sensors. The EWR 2 Net
device version has a measurement shunt interface, a CANopen interface, and an Ethernet interface.

4.2 Authorization levels/password
The device is preset with factory settings at the time of delivery. Once the power supply is established, the
device always starts at the "User" authorization level. To change the factory settings, you require
authorization rights at the "Setter" level and must enter the following password, which has been set by the
factory: <1054>. The password can be changed via the service software at the "Setter" authorization level.
The authorization level is set by a higher authorization level to "User" if no button is pressed after 5 minutes
(timeout mechanism).
The following authorization levels exist:
