08.Start up

Before each start up and especially after each repair or cleaning procedure, one must check
that all the components are completely stopped and that the safety systems of the equipment
operate properly.
Ground the equipment, as well as the hoses, the containers to be used and the objects to be
painted.
Always place the equipment at least 6 metres away from the product application area. The first
time you use your equipment there is no need to depressurise it, as it is already supplied comple-
tely depressurised, though it will be necessary to do this each time any maintenance, cleaning or
repair work is carried out.
Were this safety measure not observed, this may lead to malfunctions, personal injury and acci-
dents, which may even be fatal. SAGOLA does not accept any liability for the consequences of any
non-compliance with these safety rules.

09. Depressurisation

1. Adjust the product pressure regulator (No. 8 in figure 1) clockwise until the pressure gauge
shows a pressure between 0.5 and 1 bar. In the event that the pump or the equipment is not fitted
with this pressure regulator, close the air supply to it.
2. Activate the gun's safety latch.
3. Adjust the air pressure inlet regulator of the gun (No. 5 in figure 1) by turning it counter cloc-
kwise.
4. Close the air inlet passage to the pump (No. 14 in figure 1) and then adjust the air inlet pressure
regulator of the equipment (No. 5 in figure 1) turning it counter clockwise.
5. Deactivate the gun's safety latch. Firmly holding a metal part of the gun to the wall of a properly
grounded metal vessel, press the trigger to bleed the product (aim the jet towards the wall of the
vessel).
6. Activate the gun's safety latch.
7. Open the bleeding valve (No. 15 in figure 1) placing a container close to the equipment to pour
the product into. Keep the valve open until the equipment is once again in condition to operate.
If you suppose that the fluid nozzle, the filter or the hose are completely clogged up or that the
pressure has not been completely removed after having followed the aforementioned procedure,
carefully dismantle the hose gradually reducing the pressure until it disappears. Then clean out
the gun and/or hose. In the event that a gun is not used, complete the work cycle until product
stops coming out of the pump or the equipment unit.

10. Operation

Only if the whole process indicated in the section regarding DEPRES-
SURISATION, described in section 9, has been correctly carried out will
the unit be ready to be started, cleaned, maintained and used again.
The incorrect observance of this Depressurisation process could lead
to malfunctions in the equipment and the damaging of its compo-
nents.
