Operator troubleshooting
Most minor problems can be resolved quickly and easily using the table below.
If problems persist, contact a metabo HPT authorized service center for assistance.
PROBLEM
Power switch doesn't turn on.
Turn on once, but turn off
automatically.
Nailer doesn't operate
(Power switch ON).
Nailer operates, but no nail is driven.
Weak drive.
Slow to cycle.
Drives too deep.
Skipping nails.
Intermittent feed.
Nails jam.
Driven nail is bent.
CHECK METHOD
Low battery charge.
Damaged internal electronics.
Push lever and/or trigger is ON state ? Keep push lever and trigger in OFF
Keep no operation over 30 minutes ?
(Auto-power off function)
Nailer not enough pressed against
workpiece.
Trigger not enough pulled.
More than 4 seconds pass from push
lever ON to trigger ON (or more than
2 seconds pass from trigger ON to
push lever ON).
(Time out function)
Lock lever(Trigger lock function) is
"ON" position.
Machine is too cold (below 23°F
(-5°C)) or too hot. (LED light blinks at
regular intervals, and power switch
goes off after 10 seconds.)

Damaged internal electronics.
Magazine is dirty.
Check for a jam.
Driver blade worn or damaged?
Feed spring weakened or damaged? Replace feed spring.
Nail feeder damaged?
Check for proper nails.
Check position of nailing depth
adjustment adjuster.
Driver blade worn?
Compressed air pressure has
become low.
Damaged internal electronics.
Check position of nailing depth
adjustment adjuster.
Check for proper nails.
Nail feeder damaged?
Feed spring weakened or damaged? Replace feed spring.
Driver blade worn or damaged?
Check for proper nails.

CORRECTION
Charge the battery.
Contact metabo HPT for inspection.

Push and hold power switch more
than 1 second to switch "ON"
Hold nailer fi rmly and press to the
workpiece completely.
Pull the trigger fi rmly.
Make sure that less than 4 seconds
pass between push lever ON and
trigger ON (or make sure that less
than 2 seconds pass between trigger
ON and push lever ON).
Set Lock lever to "OFF" position.

Allow the nailer to cool or warm-up
throughly in adequate condition.
Contact metabo HPT for inspection.
Blow and wipe clean the magazine.
Clear a jam (see page 26).

Replace nail feeder.

Readjust according to page 25.
