To be sure your pet has unhindered access through the
pet door, measure the height of their tummy from the floor.
This measurement is the distance from the floor to the
bottom edge of the hole you need to cut. Mark this height
on your door where you want to position your pet door.
Attach a ball of Blu Tack (or similar adhesive putty) to each
rear corner of the external frame so that you can attach
it to the door and use it as a template.
Stick the frame to the door aligning the bottom edge of the
hole with the mark you previously made. Use a spirit level
to ensure the product is straight, then run a sharp pencil
around the inside edge of the frame.
Now that you have a clear outline drawn on the door,
it's time to prepare for cutting. We strongly advise that
you drill pilot holes in the corners of the outline to make
it easier to cut the hole with a jigsaw. Make sure these
holes are touching the line and that they are big enough
for the blade of the jigsaw to fit through.
