Operating instructions.
Connect the power tool to the frequency converter
(HFS) only in switched-off condition. A self-start preven-
tion lock in the HFS prevents the power tool from start-
ing when connecting a switched-on power tool to the
HFS, or from automatically restarting again, even after a
brief interruption of the power supply during operation,
e. g., from a pulled mains plug.
The operator protection (PSU) integrated in the power
cable belongs to the frequency converter. Under normal
operation, the control lamp of the PSU lights up green.

Procedure when switching off the outlet voltage with
error message: Firstly, switch the HFS OFF and then ON
again via the switch. If this does not restore the normal
condition, switch the HFS OFF until its control lamp goes
out, then switch ON again.
Repair and customer service.
When replacing the power cable or the PSU is required,
have this carried out by FEIN or by an authorized FEIN
Service Agent, in order to avoid hazardous situations.
Operation without PSU is not possible. Repairs are to be
carried out only through FEIN or by an authorized FEIN
Service Agent.
Warranty and liability.
The warranty for the product is valid in accordance with
the legal regulations in the country where it is marketed.
In addition, FEIN also provides a guarantee in accordance
with the FEIN manufacturer's warranty declaration.
Upon detection of an electrical hazard in the supply cable
following the PSU or in the HFS, the PSU metallically
separates the supply cable from the power supply. This is
indicated by a red lit control lamp.
When normally switching on the HFS by its switch, its
green control lamp briefly lights up red first, then lights
up continuously green under normal operation. During a
short-term overload at the HFS output, it lights up green
+ red: immediately reduce the loading on the power
tool.
After a malfunction during operation, the HFS automati-
cally switches off the voltage at the outlet:
Possible cause of the switching off
HFS switch is switched off
Over- or undervoltage in the power
supply
Short circuit at the socket outlet for
the power tool
Excessive temperature in HFS
Electrical hazard in the supply cable
following the PSU or in the HFS
Earth fault
On/Off switch of power tool set to
ON before switching on the HFS
HFS outlet subject to continuous
overload
Internal error in HFS
The delivery scope of your power tool may include only
a part of the accessories described or shown in this
instruction manual.
